USYD has heritage buildings like The Great Hall, The University of Sydney Memorial Carillon, The Organ, Architecture and gardens, etc. These locations are chosen for graduation ceremonies, major events and even occasional weddings.

Yes, the University of Sydney accepts CBSE marksheet as it is the Central Education board of India and also fully recognised for direct admissions to UG courses at the University of Sydney.

The most important requirement is to have a high school Diploma equivalent to an Australian year 12 qualification and the CBSE marksheets are equivalent to it.

International students would also require English language proficiency for admissions.

Students can arrive the latest by 2nd week of the semester of their programme at USYD. They won't be allowed to study online in the meanwhile, but no need to feel hopeless. If a student is fully enrolled they can request to suspend their studies until next semester. If students are yet to enrolled they can request to defer the start date of course to next available semester.

Students will receive an email from USYD once they formally accept their offer and enrollment opens for their programme of choice. Incase a student applied ahead of time they will need to wait for the enrollment dates (vary from course to course). A delay can occur if the fee payment didnt get processed yet (can take upto 7 days) or other reasons.

Yes USYD is definitely worth it, considering it ranks in the top 25 globally for the QS rankings of 2026. It also ranks 1st in Australia in the US News Best Global Universities rankings and 53rd in the world for the THE World University Rankings 2026. Almost 20 of its subjects ranked 1st in Australia as well.

Yes international students are required to hold a valid Australian visa for the duration of their study. Students can apply for the same after formally accepting their offer letter from USYD and paying course fees. This student visa has other mandatory conditions like maintaining a full time study load, satisfactory academic progress, timely completion of degree, working hours of 40 hours/fortnight etc.

While SAT and ACT are indeed recoognized by the University of Sydney with completion of a secondary or high school qualification, its not mandatory for Indian students to submit the same. USYD recognizes Indian qualifications like AISSCE or CISCE and has stated the required grade equivalent for programs. Students can check the same on the official website.
