Some of the important topics that are covered under Mathematical and Logical Reasoning section are: Basic Arithmetic, Basic Geometry, basic Trigonometry Basic Statistics Number Series, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. On the basis of the previous year question papers analysis, candidates can expect the following type of questions from the topics mentioned: Basic Arithmetic includes- Ratio-proportions, HCF-LCM, Time & work, Simple and compound interest, percentages, numbers, etc. Basic Geometry includes- Triangles lines, angles, square & rectangles, circles- radius, diameter, arc, chord, etc. , Cubes, base angle theorem, Pythagoras theorem, and so forth. Logical Reasoning includes- Clocks & calendars, direction, alphabet series, number series, statement conclusion, arguments, assumptions, logical connectivity, Venn diagram, puzzle, and so forth.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences conducts the TISSNET selection process soon after the declaration of results. The TISSNET admission process for the 2024-25 session will commence in second week of April 2024. Candidates who will appear for the TISSNET exam and qualify the cutoff criteria will be shortlisted for the TISS Online Assessment rounds. The Online Assessment of TISS consists of Personal Interviews and Extempore rounds. To appear for the OA rounds, shortlisted candidates must compulsorily fill the Detail Application Form (DAF) on or before the prescribed last date. On the basis of the applications received, candidates are assigned the date on which they have to appear for the OA rounds. The OA rounds are conducted in online mode via the Zoom application. It is conducted for a duration of 20-30 minutes by the three-panel members. The aim of OA rounds is to assess the candidate's interest in the selected programme. The final selection is then based on the candidate's performance in the TISSNET exam (50%) and Online Assessments (Extempore (20%) and PI (30%). .

Tata Institute of Social Sciences, selection process consists of three stages:

1. Appear for the TISS entrance exam.

2. Appear for Online Assessment rounds: Personal Interview and Extempore

 1. Appear for the TISS entrance exam- in the first stage candidates must ensure to fill the application form to appear for the TISS entrance exam. The TISSNET exam is conducted for admission to various PG courses. Candidates must enter the courses that they want to appear for. Candidates are not required to fill out separate forms to apply for different courses. Aspirants must then appear for the entrance exam on mentioned date, time and venue.

2. OA rounds- Based on the scores obtained in the TISSNET, candidates meeting the qualifying cutoff criteria will be shortlisted for the Online Assessment rounds. The OA rounds consist of Personal Interview and Extempore rounds. It is conducted for 25-30 minutes for each candidate.

3. Final selection: Based on the candidate's cumulative performance in the TISS entrance exam and OA rounds, the final merit list will be released.
