TNEA Counselling

The TNEA counselling for Special Reservation categories will be held in July. TNEA stands for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu conducts TNEA every year. It is an online counselling window. All Indian National candidates who wish to take admission to Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges, University Departments and Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University and for the seats surrendered by Self-Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu have to apply for TNEA counselling. TNEA counselling is a Unified Single Window Admission System for Indian Nationals only. The courses offered via this online counselling are BE/B.Tech and BE (sandwich) courses. TNEA counselling is conducted online in 4 rounds as per the Schedule. Candidates need to participate in corresponding rounds based on their rank.

The TNEA 2026 counselling will end in September 2026.

BE/B.Tech admission in Tamil Nadu is done based on the online counselling process called TNEA. There is no state-level entrance exam for admission in Tamil Nadu. Candidates have to register and appear for the online Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA counselling held every year. 10+2 passed/appearing candidates can apply for TNEA counselling. Admission will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which will be reduced to 200. TNEA 2026 counselling process includes registration, assignment of random numbers, Certificate verifications, rank list publication, and finally the counselling. The counselling rounds will include steps like Choice Filling, Allotment, Confirmation of Allotment, and Reporting to the College/TFC and payment of fees depending upon their confirmation.

TNEA 2026 general counselling will start in July 2026 and will end in September 2026. Candidates whose names appear in the rank list will have to appear for the counselling rounds. The counselling rounds include Choice Filling, Allotment, Confirmation of Allotment, and Reporting to College/TFC and payment of fees depending upon their confirmation. The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics:100, Physics + Chemistry 100) in the qualifying examination. The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Boards or Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu by adopting the method of normalisation.

TNEA 2024 BArch registration begins on May 6, 2024. The BArch registration dates has not been notified yet. The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu will start the BTech and BArch application process forTNEA 2024 in May tentatively.
