UGC NET Eligibility

Hi,You can go for either a regular degree or a correspondence. The college should be UGC approved. The subject of the NET should be the same as that of your Masters degree. Then you can pursue a Ph.D. and become a professor in a reputed university. The Ph.D. eligibility criteria is If you belong to a general category then your minimum post-graduation marks should be more than 55%. For SC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates/Women applicants, it should be 50%. Candidates who are pursuing their Masters degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Masters degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this UGC NET 2020 test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Masters Degree or equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of OBC-NCL /SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category candidates). Such candidates must complete their Master degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified. So from above you are not eligible this year for UGC NET 2020.
