 Yes, it is necessary to submit English Proficiency scores. In order for an application to be taken into account and processed, international students must submit the results of their English language proficiency exam. The university will not accept late submissions of these results. These submitted results must be provided to the institution by the testing agency/company exclusively and cannot be older than two years from the date of the exam.

UHCL provides its students with a range of housing choices, including different types of rooms. All the rooms are furnished with twin-size extra oversized bedding, a table and chair, a closet, and a set of drawers for each student. Also, Wi-Fi and Ethernet ports are provided in the rooms.

The Hunter Residence Hall is a home away from home for international students. This housing facility is located a short distance away from the main campus. It has an on-staff maintenance team that considers the daily needs of the students, be it any issue with electricity, water, or bills.

UHCL aims to promote cultural and ethnic diversity. Thus, it admits more international applicants each year. For Fall 2020, the university enrolled 9,144 students, including 6,758 undergraduates and 2,386 graduates. Out of the total Fall 2020 enrolled, 3.9% were international students from various countries.
