University of Stuttgart

Stuttgart University offers on-campus housing to both domestic and international students. They have dormitories in the Stuttgart-Vaihingen campus, which is a 20-minute ride via commuter train to the downtown campus. Student dormitories cost EUR 300 per month and EUR 400 is taken as a deposit. Some of the major features of the dormitories are:

• All single bedrooms have a sink, bookshelf, closet or wardrobe, chair, bed, and table. 
• Every floor has a common kitchen.
• No dishes are available (students need to arrange this).
• Shared showers and toilets on each floor.
• Coverlets and bed linen are available for purchase at the office at EUR 45. For international master's aspirants, this is included in the room rent. 
• All the dormitories have internet access. 

If you do not get a dormitory through the university hostel, you can opt to stay in private student hostels or rent a room, studio, or apartment in Stuttgart. Stuttgart has are five major student hostels where you can rent a room for a semester or two until you find a place in university housing. These hostels are:

The university advises students to consider sharing a flat if they cannot get accommodation in the dormitories. The general rent figures are:  

• EUR 350 to 500 (INR 33,595 to INR 47,992.5)for a single room
• EUR 500 to 800 (INR 47,992.5 to INR 67,190) for studio apartments
