No, the University of Stuttgart is not tuition-free for international students. They are required to pay EUR 1,500 per semester. Stuttgart University offers on-campus housing to both domestic and international students. They have dormitories in the Stuttgart-Vaihingen campus, which is a 20-minute ride via commuter train to the downtown campus. Student dormitories cost EUR 300 per month and EUR 400 is taken as a deposit. Some of the major features of the dormitories are:
- All single bedrooms have a sink, bookshelf, closet or wardrobe, chair, bed, and table.
- Every floor has a common kitchen.
- No dishes are available (students need to arrange this).
- Shared showers and toilets on each floor.
- Coverlets and bed linen are available for purchase at the office at EUR 45.
