It's definitely, VIT Vellore which is better then LNMIIT or UPES Dehradun as the average package in CS is 10 to 11 Lacs and last year 2 students got 1.02 crores of package and companies that takes students are Microsoft and JP morgan.

You may get mechanical core in 1 category but that's not sure but if not in 1 then definitely you will get it in category 2 In VIT Vellore, you can get it in category 1 in VIT Chennai.

Yes you will definitely get the seat in VIT Vellore you may get CSE with some specialization in 3rd or 4th catagory and EEE ECE IT these seats are also easily available at this rank.

The rank for taking admission in VIT is not dependent on the PCM percentage or JEE percentile. You have to give an entrance test called VITEEE. This exam is based on your JEE syllabus and the level of this exam is same or a bit lower than the JEE Mains.
