No, the cost of a UK student visa does not change depending on the number of years of your studies in the UK. This means that the base amount, i.e. £524 remains just the same. However, IHS amounts keep increasing year by year. For example, IHS to be paid for 1 year is £1,035 and that for 2 years is £2,070, for 3 years is 3,105 and 5 years is £5,175.

Students must note that SEVIS fee is different from US student visa fee and both have to be paid separately. SEVIS fee is meant to support Student and Exchange Visitor Program. If you are applying for a student visa, then you need to pay the SEVIS fee. Applicants must hence, not confuse between the two - that is, SEVIS fee and student visa application fee. If the applicant is entering USA on these visas - F-1, F-3, M-1, M-3 or J-1 then they will have to pay both SEVIS and visa application fees.

Student visa interviews are stressful because a rejection can halt months of preparation. Common fears include saying the wrong thing, missing documents, or not appearing convincing enough. Students should prepare thoroughly using mock visa interviews, ensure their documents are well-organized, and express clear study goals and future plans.

Yes. The minimum is B2 in the language of instruction. For English-taught courses, aim for IELTS 6.5–7.0 to be safe.

No, your gap year will not affect your visa approval if you explain it clearly in your SOP. Be honest—mention certifications, courses, or even work in the family business.
