The Morgantown Metro Area houses about 195,000 people of which 30,000 live as part of the Morgantown proper region & is home to a number of entertainment hubs including: Broadway theatre, a USD 20 million ballpark & a number of outdoor recreation opportunities.
The WVU Morgantown campus is located 112 km south of Pittsburgh & only 3 & a half hours away from Washington DC & has a quality public transportation network in the form of East Coast metros to & from popular US places like Columbus, Philadelphia & New York City.

The West Virginia University allows students to pick the type of room & their room-mate as part of the student housing process. Students who deposited their academic deposit are contacted by the admissions team to file respective housing application & housing deposit.
After the successful processing of the WVU housing application, students can then opt for their desired room & room-mates via the WVU housing self-selection portal.

As per student reviews curated from an unofficial source, one student describes their experience as “wonderful” & with a “good balance of academics & fun activities”. The institute offers a number of on-campus & off-campus recreational opportunities over the course of an academic year.
The on-campus recreation includes: Intramural sports, music concerts, theatre, hackathons & community meet-ups, etc.
Off-campus recreation includes: Adventure sports & fitness challenge programs, along with a few visits to some of the city's historical landmarks & architectures.

The roommate pairings are not based on gender identity for LGBTQ+ students who enroll as part of the True Colors Community. As part of the program, students who have successfully enrolled for the university & its housing facilities are then paired according to their preference of genders.
This information is not shared with the room-partner & in-case no partners are found as per the preferences, then a random partner is assigned from the community.

The West Virginia University, first opened its doors, in 1862, under the name: Agricultural College of West Virginia.
The institute was found soon after the passing of the Morris Act, by Abraham Lincoln, which provided each state about 30,000 acres of land for the development of an institute that provided agricultural & mechanical engineering education to the native student population. The institute changed its name to West Virginia University in the year 1868.
