It is a decent university to pursue mining engineering.

Placements: There are minimal to no campus placements for B.Tech mining students in the technical field. Recently in 2021, a few software companies allowed mining students to sit for campus drives with around 3.36 LPA. There are 3-2 vocational training opportunities between the course provided by the university during semester break. Almost half of the class will be provided with unpaid post-graduate practical training (PGPT) in various mines like MOIL Ltd., Limestone Mines etc.

Infrastructure: There are few labs that come solely under the mining department. They are geology lab, mine machinery lab, mine environment and ventilation lab, rock mechanics lab, innovation lab etc. There are some common labs used by multiple departments, such as strength of materials lab, fluid mechanics lab, computer labs etc. The mining department is located in B-Block, and mostly, all classrooms on the 1st floor belong to the mining-related departments. There is a big playground on the way to E-Block from D-Block. A basketball court is available near D-Block, and a badminton court is available in C-Block. The sports department is located in C-Block, where you can enroll and get some sports equipment issued. There is a central library in A-Block and various departmental libraries in other blocks. As far as the mining department is concerned, its library is situated in C-Block, which has all the engineering books. There is a big central hall in A-Block and Vivekananda Hall beside B-Block. There is another hall under construction in between C and D blocks. There is one mediocre canteen beside C-block. There is a restaurant, which offers good food, nearby the main gate of the university. There are a few gardens inside the campus near every block. The university also contributes NCC cadets to the nation. There is no in-campus hostel facility provided to house a huge number of students.

Faculty: All the faculty in mining engineering are well qualified. Most of them are senior executives from the field, such as retired directors, CGMs, GMs, DDMS etc. There are other faculty who have PhDs and M.Tech with experience in various disciplines. The former VC professor is a great personality, very knowledgeable and has a great passion for teaching. AKSU had its privilege of having a vice-chancellor like other good faculty include dean etc. He always pushes his students to go beyond a mile. The course curriculum is frequently revised and set as per the current field scenario, which prioritizes what needs to be incorporated to get progress and to have a good idea of the subject. Vocational training and visits are provided. Semester exams are not much difficult if you pay attention and understand the concepts given by the faculty. The pass percentage is good and totally subjective on the efforts put by a class. There is also a DGMS Gas Testing Exam Centre in the university. Currently, the university has established first-aid training center.

Other: I am a lateral-entry student. We all have a Diploma in mining engineering after our matriculation, so we took lateral entry in 2nd year. The best thing about my course is that we have been to IIT, ISM, Dhanbad, once to represent our university taking part in India's the biggest annual mining tech fest, Khanan-18. We met very eminent personalities and presented our innovative project to them. We bagged 1st, 1st and 2nd prices in Minnovare, Ideate and Industrial Design Problem, respectively. That was once in a lifetime experience. If there is some more preference to sports and other physical activities, it would be better. The crowd is medium and is certainly okay. Spandan event is grandly hosted by AKSU. There are many departmental-wise cultural events, including freshers party, farewell party, mining day, science day, Independence day, Republic day, engineer's day etc. The university lies nearby Satna-Panna road, which falls under Sherganj village, which can be reached by auto from the city. Chancellor scholarship program benefits students who have both merit and attendance. There are state-sponsored scholarships programs for Madhya Pradesh Residents. My friend and I established an entrepreneur development cell-EDC pre-covid. It also has other clubs like chancellor scholars club, language club, culture and arts club etc.

This college placements and infrastructure are not good.

Placements: The internships were provided in this college. Almost everyone was provided with internships regardless of percentage 6 CGPA was required for the package offered in our course. Top recruiting were Joy Mining, Coal India, HIC, MOIL, NMDC but not every year. But placements were not good in this college.

Infrastructure: In this college, the classroom condition was excellent. There was no university hostel. Private hostels were available, but the condition was not good. Sports, medical, and canteen were average. There were two 2 libraries available in different blocks. Wi-Fi facility was not enabled in this college.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful, knowledgeable, and highly qualified. The teaching quality was excellent. It makes students industry-ready, and the course curriculum was relevant. There was some room for improvement. Semester exams were not difficult. Mid-term exam was also easy.

Other: I did my B.Tech in mining engineering, because of interest in mining. The student should be provided with more practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge. Events and fests were held every year.

It is a great college with good educational environment.

Placements: The highest package offered for B.Tech (mining) in the college is 5 LPA, and that student got settled in Australia, placed at a coal mine, with all the accommodation and other facilities. The placement drives are conducted from time to time at the end of the last semester.

Infrastructure: The library, classrooms and labs are in very good condition. All the equipment is new, and the lab assistants are good at handling the classes. They are polite. The organisation also provide bus facilities for those students who come to university from a long distance.

Faculty: In B.Tech mining, the faculty members are all experienced and well qualified. They all are retired and experienced managers from Coal India Ltd. Every facility has good experience and working knowledge, be it theoretical or practical.

Good for mining engineering.

Placements: Placement record of the college is good as approximately 90 % of the students get placed with good companies with an average salary package of 3lpa. And many companies also provide internship to the students with great mines experience and industry knowledge.

Good college for engineering. The placement record of the college is amazing.

Placements: The placement record of the college is around 90 % with the highest salary package of 6 LPA and an average salary package of 4 LPA. Many big companies visit the campus for hiring the students for different job roles and many start-up companies provide internship also.

You can satisfy with the faculty and infrastructure, and you can gain the knowledge as well.

Placements: I am new to this college from Telangana, and I heard from the students of our previous year that some of the students get placed in some reputed companies. Every year, the placements cell is trying to invite many companies for the students to get placed. The cement manufacturing companies and other companies are hiring almost 50% of the students in the mining department.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college and labs are very good. The college is very strict in conducting labs. They conduct classes regularly, and the online attendance is also followed. From the beginning of the semester, they make us write records and do the experiments by dividing the class into batches. Each batch contains ten students, and in the lab, they give us the marks for the record work.

Faculty: Faculty members of the mining department are excellent. Faculty members are experienced, and they have worked at IIT, Dhanbad and IIT, Kharagpur previously. The classes are conducted regularly, and they can clarify any doubt at any time. The faculty always try to make the students' position better.

Anyone who wants to become a mining engineer in India should keep this college in their bucket list.

Placements: In India, there were only a few mining colleges. AKS was one of the better ones in terms of placement records. Approximately 30% of graduates secured government jobs, while around 60% joined private companies immediately after graduation. In subsequent years, around 70-80% of graduates settled into government mining jobs. Some of my friends also received attractive job offers.

Infrastructure: The institution had good infrastructure and well-equipped labs. I was disappointed with the hostels and food. Which did not meet my standards of hygiene. It makes them unsuitable for someone like me who values cleanliness. Sports and games were not great here. But some of my friends used to play.

Faculty: One advantage was AKS had qualified teachers and facilities. It had structured study plan, exam schedule, and dress code. The curriculum was industry-based, incorporating field visits, mine visits, and ore differentiation understanding. The university pass percentage was 50 percent. Achieving marks were challenging due to college strict regulations.

Other: I chose this mining course by observing the fascinating job of mining engineers to dig deep into the ground and also as suggested by my uncle. I want to say that hi guys, take part in every possible engaging extracurricular activity in college. It was your life to enjoy and simultaneously balance the study work. College fests and year-end festivals were great there.

Placements: AKS University's mining engineering placement is decent for core roles via GEAT/DGMS, with some PSU selection. Private placements have very top offers of 12 LPA, and the average is around 3-5 LPA. Campus placement rates are 20-50%, depending on performance. Another note: no formal placements.

Infrastructure: AKS University offers a stronger infrastructure for mining engineering with specialized labs in rock mechanics, mine ventilation, geology, and machinery. A DGMS-approved gas testing center is available. However, there are no on-campus hostels; students stay in private hostels nearby.
