What is APAAR ID?
The APAAR ID or Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) is a unique 12-digit identification number, launched under the ‘One Nation, One Student ID’ initiative, as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Every student of India has his/her own APAAR ID. It is a digital academic identity that combines a student’s educational records, achievements, and certifications in a single platform. The APAAR ID card of a student is directly linked with their Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and DigiLocker. This makes it easier for them to access their academic data anytime, anywhere.
Is APAAR ID Mandatory for CUET UG 2026 Registration?
No, the APAAR ID is not compulsory for CUET 2026 registration. According to NTA, the APAAR ID has been introduced as part of the registration process, but students are not required to have one to complete their application. They can fill and submit their application form without mentioning their APAAR ID. Though having the ID is not compulsory for CUET UG, candidates are advised to apply for their APAAR ID as it serves as a digital academic record system that helps students to easily store and access their educational credentials.
Check Out:
To find your APAAR ID, check the "Issued Documents" section of your DigiLocker account. If it is not there you can ask your school administration since many institutions are registering students as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
While the APAAR ID is not yet mandatory for CUET UG registration, it is encouraged for tracking academic records. Candidates who wish to generate their APAAR ID can apply for the same through their school.
Go on the official website of university/organaisation. Check the courses offered and eligibility test that they should appear in for admission to desired course. The choice of language/domain subject and General test will depend upon the course and university. Candidates will be able to opt for one or more tests as per the requirement of the course and university from the following sections:
- Section I - 13 Languages
- Section II - 23 Domain Specific Subjects
- Section III - General Test
Can I fill my CUET Application Form without APAAR ID?
