Candidates must first apply for their preferred course on the official website of the university. Alagappa university admission is both entrance and merit-based, depending upon the nature of the programme. The university conducts an entrance exam for admission to B.Ed, MBA, MCA and MSc. Once selected, candidates are offered seat in the university based on their merit. They need to confirm their seat by paying the course fee.

Students at Alagappa University can apply for scholarships offered by the State Government, the Central Government, and NGOs.
