Passed 10+2 from a recognized board can apply for the Alliance University Common Law Admission Test. The registered candidates will be issued the ACLAT 2026 admit card. What is ACLAT?

ACLAT is an online entrance test for admission to the LLM course offered by Alliance School of Law. It refers to Alliance University Common Law Aptitute Test. ACLAT is not held for admission in BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) courses. The admission to BA LLB and BBA LLB at Alliance School of Law is based on merit.

Q:   Why is the ACLAT exam conducted?
A: 
The ACLAT exam is required for admission to law courses. This exam is conducted by the Alliance University. 1. The ACLAT is exclusively for admission to the LL. M. course at a university. 2. Admission to the undergraduate course LL.B. Is based on the AUSAT exam rather than this. 3. The ACLAT exam is conducted online more or less every year. 4. To be eligible for this exam, one must have completed their Bachelor of law from a recognised law school. 5. The minimum score required for a Bachelor's degree is 45% to sit in this exam. 6. After this exam, the selected students are called for a Personal Interview to prepare the final merit list for admission.

Q:   Which types of questions are asked in the ACLAT question paper?
A: 

Multiple-choice questions are asked in the ACLAT question papers. Candidates are required to answer these questions in a computer-based test mode (online). They will also be able to skip questions if they do not know their answers. However, it is not recommended for all ACLAT candidates to answer all questions if they do not know the answer of some questions because there is no negative marking scheme in the ACLAT exam. There will be a deduction of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer. The option of marking for review is also available for questions in the ACLAT question paper. Candidates can answer these questions later before clicking on the submit or end exam button. 

Q:   From where can I get previous years' question papers of ACLAT?

The ACLAT previous years' questions are not available for download because Alliance University does not publish question papers and answer keys for the ACLAT exam. But there is a solution to this problem. Many good books designed for law preparation contains sample papers for all types of law entrance exams. You can purchase the best books for law entrance exam preparation to get an overview of the ACLAT question papers along with answer keys the LLM programme.

Q:   What are the weightage of sections in ACLAT 2026 Exam?
A: 

In ACLAT LLM, the weightage is Language Profieciency (40 questions), General Awareness (50 questions), Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability (45 questions), Numerical Ability (25 questions), and Legal Aptitude (45 questions). To obtain high score in ACLAT, candidates need to prepare well for all these sections. However, acquiring maximum scores in the General Awareness section can increase overall score of candidates because this section has the highest weightage in the ACLAT LLM exam.

ACLAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

For BA LLB/ BCom LLB

  • 10+2 pass candidates with 50% minimum marks from the recognized board may apply

For LLB

  • Graduate candidate with minimum 45% marks may apply

For LLM

  •  Passed/appearing in the final year of LLB/BL or any other graduate degree in Law recognized by Bar Council of India.
  • Minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category).

To apply for admission to the courses at Alliance University through ACLAT 2026, candidates have to apply online. The application process is given below.

  • Login with credentials sent to the registered email id.

Q:   Can I correct details in my ACLAT application form once I submit it?
A: 

Candidates cannot edit the details that they fill out in the ACLAT LLM application form because there is no provision of the application correction window. 

If you mistakenly entered wrong information in the ACLAT application form, you need to contact the Alliance University Admission Office. You can try contacting the Alliance University admissions office directly via their helpline number or email after submitting the form and explain the error. They might be able to accommodate corrections under special circumstances. The admission authority may help you in this context.

ACLAT Exam Pattern 2026

The exam pattern of ACLAT will help to understand the structure of the question paper. There will be 200 multiple-choice questions in the ACLAT exam. Each question carries 1 mark.
