Good faculty, average placements, vast and best infrastructure.
Placements: More than 50% of my seniors got their placements after doing their internships. The highest package was 20 LPA, and the average package was 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Amazon and Deloitte. For internships, my seniors received a stipend of around 20k as junior data scientists.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are air-conditioned and well-equipped with benches and chairs. We are provided with high-speed Wi-Fi accessible to students. We have labs filled with facilities, and a vast library with books from different authors. The hostel is kind of strict with the rules and is not lenient. We have three canteens, all of which are hygiene-maintained. The food is also good, with a large variety.
Faculty: All the faculty members hold doctorates in their respective subjects. They use different materials such as projectors, PPTs, and PDFs. The course curriculum is relevant, and we have already learned two languages. The faculty teaches on a broad basis, preparing us for interviews. We have internal examinations as well as external ones, and we have separate practical examinations. Viva sessions are also held from class to class.
Other: I chose this course because it is a blooming industry. Data Science is the future of the twenty-first century. We have two main events held, namely Sangathan and Amiphoria. They are a series of events filled with healthy competition, fun, and laughter. I would want some more rapid sessions, hackathons, etc., to be held.

Great infrastructure and faculty, strong placements, and a vibrant campus experience!
Placements: Amity University Kolkata's B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering boasts a high placement rate of over 90%, with the highest package reaching INR 20 LPA, the lowest at INR 3.5 LPA, and an average of INR 6.5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, IBM, Accenture, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. Approximately 85% of students secure internships with leading companies like TCS, Wipro, and IBM, gaining valuable industry exposure. Graduates are offered top roles such as software developer, data analyst, system engineer, IT consultant, and network engineer. The program's blend of theoretical and practical training ensures students are well-prepared for the teaching industry.
Infrastructure: Amity University Kolkata's B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering program features state-of-the-art infrastructure, including high-speed Wi-Fi, modern computer labs, smart classrooms, and a well-stocked library with extensive digital resources. The hostels provide clean, spacious rooms with Wi-Fi and laundry services, while the mess and canteen offer nutritious and hygienic meals. Medical facilities include a well-equipped health center staffed by qualified professionals. The campus also boasts excellent sports and recreational amenities, including sports grounds, courts for basketball, tennis, and volleyball, indoor sports facilities, and a modern gymnasium.
Faculty: The B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at Amity University Kolkata boasts highly qualified and helpful faculty, ensuring excellent teaching quality. The curriculum is industry-relevant, blending core subjects, electives, and practical projects to prepare students for tech careers. Semester exams are fair but challenging, with a high pass percentage reflecting strong student preparation and support.
Other: I chose the B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at Amity University Kolkata for its academic excellence and industry connections. The best aspects include top-notch infrastructure, experienced faculty, and an industry-relevant curriculum with ample hands-on learning opportunities through projects and internships. Improvements could include more interdisciplinary projects and collaborations. The university hosts events like "Amiphoria," fostering community and showcasing talents. The campus is vibrant, diverse, and well-connected to the city. Scholarships are available based on merit and need. Extracurricular activities are bound with various clubs and societies for technical, cultural, and sports interests, providing a holistic educational experience.

B.A. (Hons.) in Applied Psychology - Batch of 2024

Amity Kolkata, a good option for psychology?
Placements: Amity doesn't really provide the kind of placement they claim to provide, and especially for the course I have done, which is Psychology, there are no placements provided at all. In the Bachelor's course, they don't have any placement options to even sit for, and that's mostly because Psychology jobs require at least a Master's degree.
Infrastructure: The classrooms at Amity are amazing; they are well air-conditioned with whiteboards as well as cardboard. The library at Amity is average. There are not a lot of books available, but it’s okay. The food quality is good, and hostel facilities are fairly fine, but they’re very strict and expensive. Amity does have a sports club, and there are a lot of sports and games played there.
Faculty: The teachers here are Ph.D. holders or Ph.D. scholar students. They are moderately helpful and well-qualified but are only concerned about their syllabus. The course is relevant but not industry-ready because it is very theoretical and there is very little practical exposure provided. The exams at Amity are easy; you can pass if you fill your paper with even 2 or 3 proper answers because Amity follows a percentile system. So, it’s not very difficult to score.
Other: I chose this course because, in Kolkata, we don’t have a lot of good options for psychology, and other courses are fairly fine. They generally provide what they claim to provide, and it is a theoretical-based course, so that’s about it. There is an annual fest, Amiphoria, and there is an annual sports event, Sangathan. The crowd, infrastructure, and extracurricular activities at Amity are good. I would like to improve this course by adding more hands-on experience. We do have an internship that is provided and it is compulsory, but other than that internship, which lasts about six weeks to 2 months, there is no other practical exposure given.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) - Batch of 2027

Life at Amity University, Kolkata.
Placements: I am a BBA student, and as of now I am in my 2nd year (3rd semester), but I can say about the placement percentage in our college for BBA students. So our college really doesn't give placement to BBA students; placement is for MBA, B.Tech, or law. In BBA, only some good selected students get a chance to apply for placement, and if they are able to crack the interview, they get placement.
Infrastructure: The campus of college is good. There is no mess. We have 3 canteens; canteen food is okay, normal, neither good nor bad; pricing is also reasonable. Hostel: We have separate hostels for girls and boys for 1st year students. They offer the 2nd floor, which is the best room in the hostel. Later, from 2nd year, they shift them to the 6th–7th floor, which is not that good. For sports and games, we have Nathan and different clubs like theater club, event club, and photography. Interested students can take part.
Faculty: Faculty are good knowledgeable. They are helpful. Exams are not that difficult. Passing percent depend on subjects. Ex-Paper 1 is of 100 marks. Out of 100, 70 is for the external writing exam and 30 marks for the internal, 10-mark test, assignment, and presentation. So in both internal and external, if I have to pass, I have to score 33% in internal and external, like if I pass the internal exam but fail the external exam, then I am failed. And most important thing is attendance. 75% attendance is compulsory; if you fail to have 75% attendance, you are not allowed to sit in exam .
Other: I chose this course because I like business and in future I want to do MBA. The best thing I found is that it is easy and interesting, and of course it is about business. We get very little time for the semester, and we have some subjects that are not really important, like IQs (it's a history subject), which we really do not need in BBA. Amity have lots of events; its campus life is also good, crowd depend on your company, scholarship for 1st year students if they scored more than 95% in 12th will get 100% scholarship no fee for 1st year only admission fee is scored more than 90% 50% scholarship no fee for 1st semester, 85+ percentage 25% scholarship. Extracurricular activities: there are many different clubs for this activity like theater club, event club, photography, sport club, fashion club, etc.

Amity Kolkata is a good university to enjoy your college life to the fullest.
Placements: You get good opportunities from Amity, with placements also available abroad. The college is very supportive of curricular activities and practical-based experience. We have the opportunity to opt for internships from the second year onward in our course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is beautiful, except for the washrooms. The rest of the college is well-designed and has a good canteen. It also has an ATM inside and a Café Coffee Day. We have practical classrooms equipped with tools and assessments to practice with.
Faculty: A few faculty members are great, while some just come to read their own PDFs and never help us understand or clear our doubts. However, a few of them are understanding and supportive. Faculty members are generally enjoyable and friendly, and they help us organize events.
Other: I chose Amity because of the infrastructure and the fests it organizes. The campus has a swimming pool and a gym, along with its own ATM and four canteens, plus a Café Coffee Day!
