B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by Andhra University College of Engineering , Andhra University, Visakhapatnam

Improve campus maintenance and add industrial exposure.
Placements: A good number of students get placed. There are decent packages, such as 9 LPA, 8 LPA, and 6 LPA. The recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, and others. TCS offers Ninja and Prime roles, with the Prime role offering 9 LPA. These are decent packages, not bad overall. According to suggestions from seniors, placements ultimately depend on our skills and efforts.
Infrastructure: Labs are quite good but have very poor maintenance. The hostel facilities are very bad, and the food is not good. On some days, there are water and electricity problems, along with insects and mosquitoes. The hostels do not seem hygienic. The washrooms are very dirty, and the mess is not hygienic.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, while others are rude. Some guest lecturers do not seem to have sufficient knowledge of their subjects. There are frequent class cancellations, and teaching the syllabus is often delayed. Sometimes, only half of the syllabus is completed during the semester. The lecturers do not seem to care much about the students.
Other: I like CSE, which is why I chose this course. I am still struggling because of insufficient knowledge, a lack of proper guidance, & limited career planning support.

The college is satisfactory if we interact with faculty and participate.
Placements: Companies come to our college for placements, but many students do not receive call letters. The average package at our college is 6 LPA. Internships are offered to students who are active, participate in various events, study well, and interact with the faculty.
Infrastructure: The hostel infrastructure is not that good. Facilities are not worth the hostel fee. Wi-Fi is provided in the hostels, but the mess food is not very good. People from nearby Visakhapatnam may find the food more suitable. Labs are okay and could be better. The classrooms are also okay, but they are not very comfortable. The library is good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful when we interact with them personally. We can learn a lot through these interactions. Whenever we ask questions or have doubts, faculty is ready to explain them. Even if they do not know something, they are willing to learn & explain it to us. The course is industry-relevant and good.
Other: I am very interested in electronics and how it works, so I chose this course. Events are limited if we do not participate in any clubs. Once we join clubs, we can enjoy more activities and events.

Study life is good, but campus life is not.
Placements: Currently, CSE branch placements are good compared to other core branches. 4 to 5 years ago, core branch placements were good, but that is not the case now. If you are interested in CSE and are looking for average placement opportunities rather than product-based companies, our college is preferable.
Infrastructure: Our college is small. It has now been converted into a deemed university, so the three Gayatri campuses come under one name. The college is small, but the hostel is good and well-maintained. Only vegetarian food is available in the college hostel and canteen.
Faculty: Faculty members are good enough and well-educated. The college is affiliated with Andhra University until 2025, and from 2026, it becomes a deemed university. The semester system is good enough for learning.
Other: The college offers a lot of freedom. Students who choose to study can learn as much as they want, while those who are interested in enjoying college life can do that as well.

College provides decent placement support, amazing lab facilities but need update in administration.
Placements: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) achieves the highest placement rates 70-80%. The highest salary package offered is 8.25 LPA to 23 LPA. The lowest is 3LPA-4 LPA. Top recruits are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, and Capgemini. The internship percentage is 50-60%.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are good. Computer labs are average. Classroom environment is boring. Library of our college is really excellent. Hostel facilities at that fee charged are really good, and food quality is also good. Sports are the highest priority on this campus. Medical facilities are available.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly highly qualified and good at teaching. Actually, no one can make you industry-ready. We have to learn the skills rather than academic knowledge. Semester exams are very easy, and the college is autonomous. Pass percentage ranges from 65-70%.
Other: I chose this course because it is demanding. The best thing about my course is that it has high demand in the future. The campus life is average, and some aspects of the campus environment can be improved. Only one fest is conducted every year that is the most satisfying thing. Campus surroundings are good and surrounded by trees. It is a good and peaceful campus.

Good college for B.Sc. Computer Science.
Placements: In my batch of B.Sc. Computer Science, around 60% of students get placed. The highest package is 3.5 LPA. The lowest is 2 LPA. The average is 2.5 to 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and some local companies in Visakhapatnam. The internship percentage is low for B.Sc. students, as only 20–30% get internships in small companies. The roles offered are Support Engineer, Junior Developer, and Data Entry Operator.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, with a nice drinking water facility. Our computer labs in the B.Sc. Computer Science department have updated systems with AC and internet. The classrooms are neat and big. The library is average, but all subject books and some competitive exam books are available. Free Wi-Fi is also available. There is no hostel for degree students, and a canteen is also not available. Medical facilities are limited, with only a first-aid box available in the office room. There is no sports ground, but we rarely play indoor games. Overall, the infrastructure is okay for a degree college.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in focusing on and understanding the subjects. They are all well qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is 100 percent good. College aims to make students industry ready. Faculty members teach C, Java, Python, & DBMS clearly, with practical sessions. The curriculum is from Andhra University. The department is strict about attendance. Semester exams are not very difficult. If you study one week before the exams, you can pass easily. Invigilation is very strict, and practical exams are conducted seriously, but faculty members help students. Overall, the exams are of a medium level, and the pass percentage is above 80–90%.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Computer Science because I have an interest in computers and coding. The best thing about my course is that we learn C, Java, Python, and do practical lab work. The course is good for building basic knowledge. Things to improve include adding more of the latest technologies and providing more campus placements. Our batch is from 2024–2026. The campus is small but peaceful. The crowd is friendly. There are no big fests, but the college conducts an annual day and farewell. Scholarships are available for eligible students through the government. Connectivity is good, as the college is near the main road. Extracurricular activities are limited, but we have a sports week. Tournaments are conducted between Gayathri campuses.

My journey in this college. Sharing my experience.
Placements: The college provided very good placement opportunities. Around 90% of students with good academic records who met the companies' criteria were placed in various companies. The college had a placement cell that invited recruiters. The major companies that visited the college included Wipro, TCS, Infotech, Amazon, Infosys, Mahindra, & many local companies. The average salary package was 3.0 LPA. The highest package was 22 LPA to 30 LPA. It depended on the company and the student's performance in the interview sessions. Companies also conducted group discussion rounds and practical tests to assess students' knowledge and skills.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities were not available on campus, but good hostels were available outside the college. Around 3–4 students could be accommodated in a single room, and the rooms were quite spacious. The mess food was good and hygienic, and proper care was taken regarding food quality.
Faculty: Faculty members were very experienced and well-qualified. Their teaching skills were also very good. Each subject had a different teacher. All the teachers held Ph.D. degrees and had experience in their respective fields. They guided us well and informed us about current industry requirements. They were always ready to clear our doubts. Overall, faculty members were very good. The college followed a semester examination system, with two semester exams of 60 marks each year. There were also two mid-semester exams of 20 marks each, along with a practical test of 20 marks. Course curriculum was quite appropriate. This is especially for students from a non-IT background. The first two semesters covered the basics of programming languages like C and C++. Later, we learned advanced languages and technologies like Java and HTML. Many guest lectures and workshops were frequently organised to enhance students' knowledge.
