Q:   How is the faculty and infrastructure of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam for B.Arch?
A:
Hi, I was there for 7 years both as a student and then as a lecturer from 1955 till December 1962. It was a golden era when Dr. VS Krishna was the VC, with the best Registrar Gopala Swamy Naidu, and outstanding faculty from all over India. There were many visiting faculties from the West as well. It certainly produced the best graduates in India and some of them migrated to all parts of the world, reaching the highest positions wherever they settled. I wish the best for the future of the Institute and its faculty and students. 1) One of the oldest universities in the country and the top government college in the state. 2) It has got a better ranking overall for the entire University (but again the ranking of engineering college alone is not that good) 3) There are limited students per class, there are only 30 seats in each department and 60 in a few. 4) Library: Every department in the University has got its own department library which comprises all the essential course materials and access to various e-books and journals. Apart from that, we have got the Central Engineering library where there are multiple copies of books which allows you to draw books, and apart from that we have got the central library in South campus which is one of its kind which is well known for the vast volumes it has got. 5) The overall area of the campus is around 600 acres, the engineering college had an area of about 110 acres including hostels. 6) Engineering College has got one of the biggest grounds in the city, we also have a basketball court and gym where you can access all the equipment without paying any extra money. 7) NCC and NSS: Students here got the provision to be in one of them, the centers of NCC and NSS are there within the University. 8) Internet connectivity: University has got one of the best internet connectivity, all the students are allowed to access the Wi-Fi. 9) Alumni: The University has got the strongest Alumni base, most of the Alumni of the University are in great positions and you get a chance to interact with them if you are fortunate enough. Most of the Alumni were known to hold positions such as chief directors in many companies here and abroad. The Alumni have contributed and are part of the university's overall development in terms of providing infrastructure and providing other facilities. Some of them are even good at providing placements too.
Q:   How are the faculty members of Andhra University?
A:
Andhra University Visakhapatnam has well-experienced faculty members known universally for their research contributions. There are over 350 professors, 190 associate professors and 115 assistant professors serving the university. Several organisations of international and national repute have featured the faculty members of the university. Additionally, there are over 2,500 support staff working at the university. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has appointed some of these professors as chairman and vice chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).. .

After joining this course I have seen a tremendous improvement in my own capabilities.

Infrastructure: To be very honest the facilities are average what I have experienced during my college days needs to be improved. The library is there and we can take books out. The canteen is available and the food is good and edible. This college is very good for sports, and NCC course students go through good training.

A very good college in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The faculty is quite good.

Infrastructure: We have our department library and also the overall college library. Classrooms are nice and enough for students who are joining now, but if there is any increase in the number of students joining, the classrooms might not be enough. Faculty quality is good and supportive. While hostels are our college hostels, they are pure veg and good food, and many of our students prefer hostel food over canteen food. In sports, students are performing well. After 2:30 PM during college hours, every student ...

Infrastructure: If you look after it, the games are fine. The hostel is also better. It would be good. The canteen is always good, you can go anytime. It's always a bit windy outside. Medical facilities are always available, and sports are also good.

Good option in Visakhapatnam, but not really great in terms of social life.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is pretty decent. We have a dedicated block for each course and individual mini auditoriums. Classrooms are pretty spacious, and Wi-Fi is available in every classroom. But in some classrooms, the projector doesn't work properly. Labs are nice with built-in systems. I don't really know about the medical facilities in the college. There is a basketball court, cricket nets, badminton nets, and a throwball court. There is also an indoor games area with a table tenni...

Absolutely satisfied because of the facilities.

Infrastructure: There are fewer facilities in our hostel when compared to others. The hostels here were built a long time ago. In hostels, we don't have any study rooms or Wi-Fi connections. When it comes to the department, we have a library with a sufficient amount of books, and we have open Wi-Fi access to everyone in my core, and we have good features like technical labs with a sufficient number of desktops. Infrastructure: Our college will upgrade systems every year so that students won't face any lags while working on computers. For every computer, a separate LAN connection is given with a speed of 100 Mbps. If we talk about the library, it is a peaceful place in our college. Infrastructure: I'm not a hostel president, I am a day scholar. The Wi-fi, labs, classrooms, and library of our department are the best compared to other colleges in the university. The classrooms are neat and tidy. The washrooms are clean. The library is very useful. Sometimes the computers in the computer lab don't work.
