Q:   How is the faculty and infrastructure of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam for B.Arch?
A:
Hi, I was there for 7 years both as a student and then as a lecturer from 1955 till December 1962. It was a golden era when Dr. VS Krishna was the VC, with the best Registrar Gopala Swamy Naidu, and outstanding faculty from all over India. There were many visiting faculties from the West as well. It certainly produced the best graduates in India and some of them migrated to all parts of the world, reaching the highest positions wherever they settled. I wish the best for the future of the Institute and its faculty and students. 1) One of the oldest universities in the country and the top government college in the state. 2) It has got a better ranking overall for the entire University (but again the ranking of engineering college alone is not that good) 3) There are limited students per class, there are only 30 seats in each department and 60 in a few. 4) Library: Every department in the University has got its own department library which comprises all the essential course materials and access to various e-books and journals. Apart from that, we have got the Central Engineering library where there are multiple copies of books which allows you to draw books, and apart from that we have got the central library in South campus which is one of its kind which is well known for the vast volumes it has got. 5) The overall area of the campus is around 600 acres, the engineering college had an area of about 110 acres including hostels. 6) Engineering College has got one of the biggest grounds in the city, we also have a basketball court and gym where you can access all the equipment without paying any extra money. 7) NCC and NSS: Students here got the provision to be in one of them, the centers of NCC and NSS are there within the University. 8) Internet connectivity: University has got one of the best internet connectivity, all the students are allowed to access the Wi-Fi. 9) Alumni: The University has got the strongest Alumni base, most of the Alumni of the University are in great positions and you get a chance to interact with them if you are fortunate enough. Most of the Alumni were known to hold positions such as chief directors in many companies here and abroad. The Alumni have contributed and are part of the university's overall development in terms of providing infrastructure and providing other facilities. Some of them are even good at providing placements too.

Satisfied with the facilities provided by the college.

Infrastructure: Regarding infrastructure, it is an old college, so we have to compromise somewhat, but not much. They always try to provide the best facilities to the students. The library is well-equipped with air conditioning and they provide 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities. Regarding the food, some days it is good, but on other days it lies between average to good.

it is absolutely good for placements.

Infrastructure: It is so-so, which only contains a few things in labs, etc. Facilities in the hostel are not very bad, but I can't say it is fabulous. Labs don’t contain everything, but it can be better to have them.

Our college is average for academics and infrastructure.

Infrastructure: In our college, the infrastructure is very average but functional, our college classrooms are spacious, and the college provides normal facilities like computers, a library, labs and a seminar hall. Some labs are average, though a few need updating. In our college, there are no hostels. Our college sports and games are good because of the good ground.

Absolutely good college if you have average budget for studies, provides decent companies.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good. Facilities like water, classrooms, boards, and projectors are available. Recently, they are providing smart tv's in college, which helps a lot to teachers as well as students. The library is pretty good with Wi-Fi availability, and also a digital library is available till 7 pm every day. Free news in the digital library, good water facility. Hostel food I would rate 3/5, it's average. But hostel rooms are good with good ventilation, providing fans, washing machines, and snacks in ...

Our college has decent and average placements, but average infrastructure.

Infrastructure: My college's infrastructure is average compared to other engineering colleges in Visakhapatnam. Classrooms are average in our college, with only a few classrooms better, like the projector room. Labs have the necessary equipment, though some systems are outdated and need upgrades. The Wi-Fi connectivity on campus is manageable and only for staff rooms, but not very fast. There are no hostels in our college.
