In terms of placements, both are similar but I think Anna University is better than Sastra in terms of core companies that come for recruitment at Sastra University. Many IT companies come and recruit students a but few core companies will only come for placements. Also, you need to score well to get placed in those core companies. Whereas in Anna University, many core companies and the same number of IT companies visit the campus. So there is no need for a core branch student to work in an IT company. But yes you need to be skilled enough to get placed in them. In all, Anna University is better in terms of core companies. Wherever you go, you need to be skilled and talented to get placed in a top company.

Anna University is a reputed institution for engineering and the other courses. As you have asked for Kumaraguru, Coimbatore let me tell you about it.
Kumaraguru is a good university for engineering. It is affiliated to Anna University and so you need to get admission by applying for single window counselling under Anna University.
If your cut off is good like 195 and above (for OC) then you can get admission.
The placements are also good for aeronautical engineering at Kumaraguru.
