B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2025
Offered by MEC - Muthiammal Engineering College

It has supportive faculty, good placements, and great exposure to coding and mini-projects.
Placements: Around 75-80% of students from my batch are placed successfully. The highest package offered is 7.2 LPA, and the average package is 3.5 LPA. The lowest package is 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Zoho, and Capgemini. Approximately 50-60% of students secured internships, mostly through pooled campus drives and an external platform. Internship recruiters include TCS iON, CodSoft, and LetsGrowMore. Top roles offered are software developer, frontend developer, QA analyst, and support engineer.
Infrastructure: The Computer Science department is well-equipped with modern labs, projectors, and good internet connectivity. Wi-Fi is available across the campus. Labs are functional with the required development tools. The library has a rich collection of books and digital resources. Hostel facilities are average but clean and secure, with 24x7 water and electricity. Food in the mess is manageable. There is a decent canteen with snacks and meals. Medical support, sports grounds, and indoor games are also available.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are supportive and well-qualified. They are holding M.E or PhD degrees. Teaching quality is good and concept-focused. The course curriculum is up-to-date with subjects like AI, IoT, and full-stack development, which makes it industry-relevant. Semester exams are moderately difficult. With regular preparation, one can score well. The pass percentage is around 85-90%.
Other: I chose this course due to my interest in software development and coding. The practical exposure through mini-projects and internships is one of the strong points. I wish the college would focus more on placements for core companies and conduct more mock interviews and aptitude training. Scholarships are also provided for eligible students from the government scheme.

AI-powered AMCET, supportive faculty, strong curriculum, and great campus life with good placements.
Placements: Around 80%-90% of students got placed. The highest package is 12 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is around 4.5 LPA-5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Zoho, and HCL. About 70%-80% of students got internships in firms like Virtusa and Zoho. Roles offered are data analyst, ML engineer, and developer.
Infrastructure: The college has excellent infrastructure with modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, Wi-Fi, and a spacious library. Hostel facilities are clean and secure, with good food, regular maintenance, and helpful staff. It's a great environment for learning and living.
Faculty: The faculty are skilled, approachable, and supportive. The curriculum is aligned with industry trends, balancing theory and practice. Exams are held regularly, conducted fairly, and help students stay on track, assess progress, and improve their academic performance effectively.
Other: I chose B.Tech in AI & data science because of my strong interest in emerging technologies and their future scope. The course offers a balanced mix of theory and practical, with supportive faculty and hands-on project work. The curriculum is industry-relevant, but more exposure to real-time applications and better lab infrastructure would improve it. The campus has a friendly environment, an active student crowd, and hosts vibrant fests and events. Connectivity is decent, and the surroundings are peaceful. Scholarships are available for merit students, and extracurricular activities are encouraged for overall personality development and skill enhancement.

A decent college experience with average placements and basic facilities.
Placements: Around 60-70% of students got placed from our batch. The highest package is around 6 LPA, the lowest is around 2.5 LPA, and the average package hovered near 3.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant are the top recruiters. Some students also got internship opportunities at startups and mid-size firms. Top roles offered are software developer, analyst, and technical support engineer. While placement support exists, there's scope for better industry tie-ups and dedicated training.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent, with good Wi-Fi connectivity, functional labs, and well-maintained classrooms. Hostel facilities are average, rooms are compact but manageable. The mess food is not great, mostly repetitive, and not always hygienic. Medical facilities are available on the campus. There are regular sports events and a playground, but indoor game options are limited. The library has a moderate collection of books and is a quiet place to study. Overall, the basic infrastructure is fine but not exceptional.
Faculty: Faculty members for the course are generally well-qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. Most professors hold advanced degrees and have a solid grasp of their subjects. They are helpful when approached and often encourage student participation, though the teaching quality can vary slightly depending on the department. The curriculum is fairly relevant and provides a strong theoretical foundation, with some efforts towards integrating practical and industry-related content. However, to be fully industry-ready, students are encouraged to pursue internships and additional skill-based certifications alongside the course.
Other: I pursued a bachelor's degree in [B.Tech. in Information Technology] as part of the [2025] batch. I chose this course because of my strong interest in the subject and its growing relevance in today's job market. The best aspects of the course include a well-structured curriculum, supportive faculty members, and the opportunities it offers for both academic and personal development. However, I feel the course could be improved with more practical exposure, such as industry tie-ups, updated lab facilities, and hands-on projects. Campus life is vibrant, with regular events, fests, and extracurricular activities that help students unwind and showcase their talents.

IFET College of Engineering (Autonomous Institution).
Placements: This is the best college where I have gained lots of hands-on experience. It improves my communication skills and strengthens my concepts. Top companies come for placements. There is a 100% placement rate. Many important companies, such as Cisco and Infosys, visit for placements. Not only software companies but also core companies come for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, and the hostel is also very good. The lab and lab equipment are of high quality. The hostel food tastes like home-cooked meals, and the room facilities are good. The classrooms and labs are also well-maintained. Overall, the college infrastructure is excellent.
Faculty: Faculty members are very friendly and helpful. They are interactive with students. They are very good to students. Ragging and other such activities are strictly prohibited on the campus. Faculty helps students and guides them on the right path.
Other: I chose ECE because it has future opportunities, and faculty is very good. I love electronics, so I chose ECE.

Offered by Chettinad College of Engineering and Technology

2Placements3Infrastructure2Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
The engineering college with low feels useful for financial weaker families .
Placements: 40 to 50% of students are placed this year. The highest salary package is 9 to 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Zoho, Infosys, and Wipro, but only 5 to 6 students are getting placed in these top companies. Other students have found placements in small developing companies with the lowest salary range from 90K to 1 LPA. With the help of the college, only one or two students are getting internships, and others need to find them on their own. No specific role has been assigned yet for my course in my college. There are some common roles like Software Developer, Software Tester, etc. These are examples of roles students are getting placed in.
Infrastructure: The latest model computers and equipment are used in the college labs, and the internet is accessible throughout the college, though not all the time during lab hours and the time allotted for students to access the facilities. Fully air-conditioned labs and classrooms (only for MBA) are provided in the college. Apart from this, the infrastructure of the college is good enough, but they still need to develop some old buildings in the college. The hostel is neat, and the average maintenance of the hostel rooms is good. The quality of the food provided in the mess is average, and sometimes it is good. The canteen serves fast food and meals from 12 PM to 2 PM, with morning and evening snacks available at normal retail prices. The canteen infrastructure is good enough and tidy. The college management gives only 10% importance to sports. Games available include football, track, volleyball, basketball, cricket, snooker, table tennis, gym, badminton, and kabaddi. However, the equipment, balls, and grounds for these games are in poor condition. This college is not suitable for sports students because they give importance to sports only on Sports Day.
Faculty: There are many good teachers who have completed PhDs and are available. They help us improve our academic performance as well as our extracurricular activities, both technical and non-technical. However, there are some demotivating, non-working staff in higher positions, which makes it hard for students to face them. These staff members never do their work and also do not allow students to excel in anything. Not only this course, but all engineering courses provided in this college are aimed only at obtaining a degree with a good CGPA, not for being industry-ready. The difficulty of semester exams varies by course and year. For example, in all departments, the 1st and 2nd semesters are similar and easy to clear, but the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th semesters for Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Computer Science Engineering are not tough to clear and are easy to study. In contrast, for the Electronics and Electrical Engineering, and Electrical Communication Engineering departments, it is slightly harder to study and clear the exams compared to other departments. The pass percentage is 50% for both practical and theory papers. Practicals are easy for all departments, and facilities in the labs are good.
Other: I chose this course randomly because I had no idea what to choose. The best things about this course are that programming is emphasized, and this department is expected to be in higher demand in the coming days due to innovations and developments in automation technology. Another positive aspect is that Artificial Intelligence and Data Science are easy to study but hard to implement in daily life. Things that need improvement in this college include canceling the evening coaching classes because they demotivate students. Many attend these classes reluctantly, and they have no real value. If a student wants to pass, they should study on their own. Pushing individuals to study is counterproductive and lacks effectiveness. Instead of evening coaching, the college could allow students to use the labs for their projects and engage in extracurricular activities like sports or other productive pursuits. Students should have the freedom to choose how they use their time rather than following a rigid college schedule. The college needs to improve facilities for sports and give importance to athletes by allowing them to participate in matches outside the college. The college grounds need to be cleaned and maintained in good condition, and necessary equipment should be sponsored by the college. This would encourage students to excel and perform their best. Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarships, and extracurricular activities all need improvement, as they are currently below average. Additionally, the college should seek feedback from students and address their queries.
