Anna university is ranked somewhere at 293rd position as per QS world ranking has entered in 2015 so yes it is one of the 14 institutions that are recognised world over. The best one though would be pgdm, PGPX from IIMs.

you are eligible for lateral entry but I don't know what is criteria for B.Tech lateral entry in anna university, you can check yourself at Official site of anna university.
