IGNOU MCA Admission 2025: The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for the 2025 - 2026 session is open for admission. Please note that the last date to apply for MCA at IGNOU is July 15, 2025. There will be NO entrance examination for IGNOU MCA admissions. About IGNOU MCA

The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a postgraduate degree programme. The duration of the MCA from IGNOU is 2 years. The maximum completion time is 4 years.

Important to Note: Students without Mathematics at 10+2 or Graduation level are not eligible for the ODL/Online MCA programme.

How to Apply for IGNOU MCA?: IGNOU MCA Admission Application Process

The following steps are to be carried out to apply for the IGNOU:

1. Open the official IGNOU website (https://www.ignou.ac.in/). Alternatively, you can use Google or another web browser to search for the keyword 'IGNOU website' and click on the URL - https://www.ignou.ac.in/.
2. Click on the "Apply for ODL Programme" tab.

1. You will be redirected to a new page where you will find "Click Here For New Registration" to start creating your account.

1. Fill in your personal and academic details carefully.
2. Upload the necessary documents as mentioned on the website.

1. Pay the application fee online using a debit/credit card or net banking.
2. Submit the completed and reviewed application form.
3. Take a screenshot for future reference.
4. Wait for an admission confirmation email or message from IGNOU once your application is reviewed.

The selection process of IGNOU MCA is straightforward and is mentioned below-

Entrance Test

• IGNOU does not conduct any entrance examination for MCA admission.
• Admission is based solely on academic qualifications and eligibility.

Mode of Admission

The IGNOU Application Process for MCA is as follows -

• Candidates are enrolled on their merit (Marks obtained in graduation) and fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.
• The entire admission process, including submission of the activation form and document verification, will be conducted online.

IGNOU MCA Selection Criteria

• Merit-Based Selection: Admission to the IGNOU MCA course will be granted basis the marks obtained by the applicant in the qualifying degrees (e.g., BCA, B.Sc.).
• Educational Background: Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
• Reservation Policy: IGNOU adheres to the reservation norms as per the guidelines of the Government of India for SC/ST/OBC/EWS and other eligible categories.
