Ashoka University MA Eligibility & Highlights 2025
Ashoka University offers an MA (Master of Arts) in three specialisations including English, Economics, and Liberal Studies. Admission to the courses is based on a written assessment or entrance examination. Candidates who pass the test are called for the interview round. The aspirants of the MA programme can apply through the Ashoka University online application portal.
The university is committed to making education accessible to every student that wishes to study. Financial aid is offered to students with poor financial conditions of the family. The university has committed INR 320 Cr as financial aid. As per officials, 49% of the students on campus are on aid.
All three MA programmes are of a duration of two years divided into four semesters. Candidates are also allowed to choose elective courses that cater to their interests. For admission to any programme at Ashoka, the fulfilment of eligibility and selection criteria is necessary. The eligibility criteria for each programme differ. Note: Ashoka University Sonipat provides residence and meal facilities to MA students for which a separate fee has to be paid. The above-mentioned fee for MA is not applicable to MA (Liberal Studies).

The eligibility criteria may vary for UG & PG courses at Ashoka University. As per the basic eligibility criteria for admission to UG programmes, the candidates must have qualified class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board

Ashoka University offers Merit Cum Means scholarship for exceptional Undergraduate students intending to major in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics or Computer Science at Ashoka. A total of 25 scholarships will be awarded in addition to the need based financial aid available to all students, of which 5 of candidates will receive a waiver of 100% on tuition fee and residence, and remaining 20 will receive a waiver of 100% on tuition fee. Candidates can refer to the steps below to apply for Merit Cum Means scholarship:
- Candidates shortlisted based on the cut-offs will receive an invitation to apply for the Merit Scholarship.
- As a part of the scholarship application, candidates will be required to submit a form with a Statement Of Purpose (SOP), along with the latest Income Tax Return of their parents/guardian. This application form will be open for 5 days.
- Candidates will be further shortlisted by a scholarship committee based on the caliber of their SOP and family income analysis. Those that make the short list at this point could also have to show up for an in-person interview with the committee.
- Depending on how well they perform overall during the selection process, successful candidates will either earn a 100% tuition fee waiver or a 100% tuition and residence waiver.
Ashoka University admissions are open. Candidates can apply online for the preferred course. The university opens applications in four rounds for UG courses. The last date for admission to UG courses is Aug 5, 2026.

- The application form has multiple sections. Candidates are advised to carefully fill in the details and double-check once completed.

Ashoka University MA Admission 2025: How to Apply?
MA course admissions for Ashoka University begins on the online application portal. A short guide to the MA application process for Ashoka University is given below:
- Open the Ashoka University college/university page website (ashoka.edu.in).
- Click on the “Apply” icon.
- Click on the “New Registration” tab.
- Register with a valid email ID.
- Login with the credentials entered during registration.
- Start filling out the fields in the form.
- Upload the asked documents such as a Letter of Recommendation.
- On form submission, a non-refundable fee of INR 1,000 has to be paid.

According to media reports, the highest and average package offered during Ashoka University placement 2024 stood at INR 35 LPA and INR 10.7 LPA, respectively. Further, Consulting sector emerged as the top recruiting sector that placed 18% of the total students followed by EdTech (16%) and BFSI (15%) sectors. The Development sector offered the highest package of INR 20 LPA during placement drive 2024.
Earlier, the 2023 placements session concluded with 100% of the students placed. A total of 146 recruiters participated and selected 351 students. Further, the highest package and average package offered during Ashoka University placements in 2023 were INR 35 LPA and INR 10.50 LPA, respectively. Consulting emerged as the top industry with the highest percentage of students placed. Genpact, Deloitte, Hindustan Unilever Limited, EY, and many other renowned companies participated in the 2023 placements. Along with the above details, the internship data for 2022-23 has also been released. Out of 182 participating companies, 105 hired during the internship process. A total of 490 offers were distributed, including 10 PPOs. The highest stipend offered during Ashoka University internships 2022-23 was INR 1.50 lakh per month and the median stipend stood at INR 15,000 per month.
