The beautiful scenery of the college creates a very good energy.

Placements: Campus placements were very good in our college. Maximum students got placed in various companies. From 3rd semester of M.Sc. students were eligible for placements. Various biological companies came like Intas, TCG, GSK, Pathansitu, Nestle, etc. The highest package was 6 LPA. The average salary was 3 LPA. About 90% of students got placed. I was selected by various companies from college placements, but I am not interested in sales, marketing, and bioinformatics jobs so I have not joined in company.

Infrastructure: Hostel facility was good. It had washing machines and even a free gym and swimming membership. The food quality was average and didn't meet the expectations. Since I moved out of the hostel I chose a PG 200 meters away from the college which was easily accessible. There was a very well-equipped lab to work in. There were no limitations to work in it.

Faculty: College provided all the requirements for my course. Teachers make us ready for the real world by giving us many hands-on experiences. The exams and courses were not that easy or tough, but surely we need an interest to complete it.

Little information about Assam Down Town University .

Placements: Students are placed at this university with salaries like 2 LPA and 4 LPA. Psychology students get internships every semester in many organizations, including wellness homes and rehabilitation centers. Clinical psychologist positions are also available. As a psychology student, I mostly want to focus on my course and a career related to it, so I don't sit for company placements. I only have a limited idea about placements.

Infrastructure: The university offers Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, a drinking water facility, a canteen, a library, vending machines, playgrounds, clubs for different co-curricular activities, a campus bazaar to sell products, and a small pharmacy with sanitary pads for women.

Faculty: Teachers have good teaching skills, are good at mentorship, guide students, and take responsibility. Semester exams are not too difficult if you are familiar with the topics. You just need to be thorough and understand them.

Other: Attitude fest is hosted every year .

It's a great institute for North East students.

Placements: The placement cell is average in its performance. Most of the Pharma and FMCG companies offer jobs but the package is not good. The jobs are more for commerce and MBA students. The placement for the Faculty of Science is not good. The placement cell should be improvised. They should bring good companies for the job offers.

Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure is above average. The lab exposure is very less and not satisfactory. The campus is beautiful and very natural. The overall environment is very positive. The quality of food in the canteen and hostels are good. The Wi-Fi service is very poor. One can't even send a what's app message from J block of faculty of Science department.

Faculty: Faculty members are not bad. They are qualified but the system of education is not quite enough for master's degree level. They can't deliver quality education or special knowledge in any section. The Department of biotechnology is quite well at maintaining a good quality of education. The department of microbiology is also trying to give the concept to the students, but the classes are no more interactive. They are dependent upon the way more conventional teaching methods. No innovative and research-based level of education should be there in master's degree programs. Overall thing is that the teaching methods should be improvised.

Other: I have chosen this course because I always wanted to be in the applied Biology field. That's why I took admitted to Microbiology after graduation in Zoology. It's a very diverse subject which can give a lot of future career aspects in different fields. In our university, I think the teaching methods should be improvised. The methods should be updated. The lab environment should be maintained. The sterility of the microbiology lab should be highly maintained. And the most important thing is the fest. The university spends a lot of money on hosting the fest. They invite foreign singers. But what is the significance of doing those things if your main thing is that the educational quality is deteriorating.? The university should spend money on giving good laboratory exposure to the students so they can learn a lot of valuable things.

A short and honest review of Assam Down Town University unbiased.

Placements: To be very honest, placements at this University are one of the worst in the aspect of companies that come here to recruit students. The HR doesn't place the students based on their calibre but on their friendship with other HRs of the companies. They don't bring good core companies and often the placement officers of the University are arrogant.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus is great and improving every year be it buildings or laboratories or even playgrounds. Internet is quite accessible for the students and classrooms are well-equipped and clean. Overall the Infrastructure is getting better with each passing day.

Faculty: Being a student of B.Sc. in the department of Microbiology and M.Sc. in Biotechnology, I would say that over 6 years spent here I found the faculty of both the departments are very well qualified and knowledgeable and the course curriculum is very well-equipped and makes any individual pursuing these courses ready for the industry. They cover the courses for government level exams. But some of the faculty members I found in the department of Microbiology lacked even basic knowledge of the subject compared to Biotechnology who are highly qualified. Coming to the semester exams, it depends from department to department. In my case, the Department of Microbiology was a bit hesitant in giving marks compared to the department of Biotechnology which taught students well and supported them in all academic aspects starting from the explanation of subject matter theoretically and hands-on experience in practicals which was lacking in Microbiology. To be frank enough, Pass percentage and an academic record were better in Biotechnology compared to Microbiology. In short pass percentage and quality of the teaching depends from department to department.

It was a good university with outstanding facilities and good courses.

Placements: Many notable companies visited our campus to hire. A job fair was conducted on campus. Our university had a placement cell. Face-to-face interviews were conducted. At least 5-10 students got placed every year.

Infrastructure: Our campus had good labs and excellent classrooms. Digital facilities were available with excellent infrastructure. Internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, and a cafeteria were also available. Campus life was very good. The gender ratio was neutral. Extracurricular activities like yoga and sports events were organised. Labs for hospitality students were well designed. Gender equality is very good. No racism existed on campus. Classrooms were high-tech.

Faculty: Faculty members at our university were helpful and friendly. The curriculum was good. There were more than 100 lectures. The average age of lecturers was 30. They were Ph.D. holders and all were experts in their own fields. Lecturers hold industry experience. Our lecturers were friendly and teach us until we understand a concept. They provided us with many knowledgeable ideas and thoughts. The semester system was good with eminent evaluation.

Other: Cultural night, fest, and workshop were connected. Darshan Raval was a guest. Usually, college fests were organised each year. Every year, a guest usually a celebrity is invited. Entry is free for college students but for outsiders, a general pass is required. Our university accepts cash, card, and demand draft payment. No additional fees were charged. It provided transparency in the fee breakdown. Fees have to be paid before a semester ends before the exam.
