Both Assam University and Gauhati University are government/ public universities, which are affiliated with several colleges that offer BA courses in various specialisations. Assam University offers a BSc four-year undergraduate (FYUG) leading to an MSc (Integrated) five-year programme under the NEP 2020. Hence, a BSc course for four years and an MSc course for one year. Further, the course is divided into ten semesters. To get into the fourth year of BSc integrated courses candidates must secure a minimum of 7.5 CGPA. 

Assam University BA courses are offered through many affiliated colleges/institutions. These affiliated colleges offered BA courses for the duration of three to four years and offered in various specialisations, such as Political Science, English, History, etc. Additionally, university-affiliated colleges offer BA courses in full-time and part-time modes of study. Hence, the tuition fees for the BSc at Assam University range from INR 18,000 to INR 45,000, and the BSc course tuition fees of Gauhati University ranges from INR 48,000 to INR 1.4 lakh. Hence, the Assam University is more affordable than Gauhati University for BSc. However, the fee structure can be only one component that candidates consider while comparing universities and colleges but several factors can be taken into account while choosing the best college, such as placement packages, seats, available specialisation, ranking of that particular institute, affiliation, accreditation, etc. The fee amount mentioned is sourced from the official website/sanctioning body and is subject to change. Therefore, it is indicative.

Assam University offers a four-year undergraduate (FYUG) leading to MSc (Integrated) five-year programme. The eligibility criteria that students are required to follow to get into the fourth year of the course/ in one year of the MSc programme is they must pass all the subjects of the BSc course by the fourth year with a minimum aggregate of 7 to 7.5 CGPA. If students fail to complete this eligibility criteria then they will get only the degree of a BSc course, not a BSc+MSc integrated course.  

The university does not specify the minimum scores required for admission to BA courses at Assam University & its affiliated colleges. The minimum education qualification asked by the university to get admission into the BA course is candidates must complete their Class 12 from their respective boards of education. However, as admission is based on merit, candidates must achieve good scores in their Class 12 to be considered in the merit list.

The BSc placements at Assam University are considered decent by some students and alumni, while some of the reviews show dissatisfaction towards placement cells & opportunities. Hence, the placement at Assam University for the BPharm course is considered mixed. However, candidates must notice that 80% of the reviews are positive about placements. Hence, candidates should focus more on positive feedback, as it weighs more.   

The Assam University allowed to edit information in the BA application as long as the application is not submitted. Once the application is submitted, the applicant cannot change/ edit/ modify the information. For any correction in the application form, the applicant will have to visit the respective college/ department of the university.
