Spread across 600 acres of land, Assam University provides state-of-the-art infrastructure to its students. Starting from the library to the learning rooms, Assam University comprises all the basic as well as modern amenities. Some of these facilities provided by Assam University include labs, seminar rooms, hostels, mess, cafeteria, sports complex, healthcare centre, ATM, etc. A few of the infrastructural USPs offered by Assam University are discussed below:
- Library: Assam University has a central library with a collection of over 1.27 lakh books. It also has subscriptions to more than 1,100 print and online journals. Moreover, the facility of more than 10,000 e-resources is also available through the e-Shodh Sindhu (INFLIBNET), DELNET, and DELCON consortiums, which can be accessed all over the campus. The library provides all academic library services in an automated environment with the help of Koha Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS). It has a reading room facility with a seating capacity of 200 and an Internet access lab with 20 nodes.
- Games and Sports: Every year a social meet is organised at the university campus, where, along with cultural activities, indoor and outdoor sports are conducted. The university is currently a member of the Interuniversity Sports Board of India, and its teams participate in zonal and all-India university tournaments, bringing laurels, prizes, and medals. The central sports complex, which is in the process of coming up, is expected to give a major boost to games and sports and to other extra-curricular activities of the students pursuing courses at Assam University.
- Hostel: Presently, Assam University houses nine hostels: four for boys and five for girls. The hostels are furnished with basic facilities. Along with the accommodation, the varsity also offers mess facilities to the students, which can be availed of by submitting a preference for a meal at the time of admission.

- Library
The University Central Library was established in 1994. At present, the Central Library has a collection of around One Lakh and twenty thousand books. It also subscribes to more than 400 Indian and foreign journals. Facilities provided by the Library include reading/ lending services, reference service, reprint service, literature search, photocopying, CDROM search. Besides these, access to internet is provided to students through 40 terminals. On line access to e-journals under UGC-Infonet, access to INFLIBNET Database service, access to DeLNET Database and Services and OPAC are also provided. The Library remains open from 9.30 am to 7.00 pm on all working days including Saturdays.
- Hostel
There are at present nine hostels four for boys and five for girls students in the University campus. The hostels are furnished with basic facilities like: Drinking water, Green Generator, Serving of cooked food.
