Admissions to the BTech course provided by the Univesity Visvesvaraya College of Engineering is entrance-based. Students are required to clear the minimum eligibility i.e., to pass Class 12 or its equivalent in the relevant subjects from a recognised board. As the competition for UVCE BTech seats is high, it is important that the candidates secure good marks in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the KEA. Additionally, students need to participate in the counselling process conducted by the KEA for seat allottment. Hence, although the admissions are entrance-based and ideally entrance exam should be enough for securing admisson, students must secure above the cutoff to confirm their seat.

{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}Is B.E./B.Tech at UVCE worth the investment? Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:Pros:* Good placement records: UVCE has a good track record of placing students in reputed companies, with packages ranging from INR6-10 LPA to INR40-58 LPA.* Strong alumni network: The college has a strong network of alumni who are successful professionals and can provide guidance and mentorship.* Relevant curriculum: The curriculum is relevant and helps students develop the necessary skills for the industry.* Campus culture: The college has a vibrant campus culture with regular festivals, events, and club activities.* Affordable: Compared to private colleges, UVCE is relatively affordable, making it a viable option for students from diverse backgrounds.Cons:* Infrastructure limitations: The college's infrastructure is limited, and some of the facilities may be outdated.* Lack of support from faculty: While some teachers are helpful, others may not be as supportive or available for guidance.* Old building: The college building is old and needs renovation, which can affect the overall learning experience.* Limited resources: Resources such as laboratories and equipment may be limited, affecting hands-on learning experiences.Overall, whether B.E./B.Tech at UVCE is worth the investment depends on individual priorities and circumstances. For students seeking a good education at an affordable price point, UVCE can be a viable option. However, those looking for cutting-edge infrastructure and extensive resources may want to consider alternative options.
