Post Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme for University Rank Holders at Undergraduate Level-

Eligibility- The First and Second Rank holders at the undergraduate level and admitted in any Postgraduate Course would be awarded the scholarship of Rs.3100/- p.m for a period of two years only (10 months in the year) i.e. full duration of a PG course. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges The scholarship is available to the student for first PG Degree on

Swami Vivekananda merit-cum-means scholarship scheme-

A) Scholarship at Undergraduate level (@Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 5000/- per month)-

Candidates must obtain at least 75% of marks in aggregate (Best of five). Students who are enrolled in the first year of the Undergraduate course in Engineering/Medical/General Education/ G.N.M. Nursing/ Para Medical Diploma Course under the aegis of Directorate of Medical Education after passing the H.S Examination or its equivalent Examination are eligible to apply.

B) Scholarship at Postgraduate level (@Rs. 2000/- to Rs. 5000/- per month)-

Candidates must obtain at least 53% of marks in Honours subjects at the Graduation level in General Education (55% marks in Graduation level in Honours subject of Engineering students) who are enrolled in the first year class of Post Graduate course in General Education /Engineering, are eligible to apply.

Scholarship 3

The university provides the Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship of Rs. 2,000/-p.m For 20 months and Post Graduate Scholarship for Single Girl Child.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of Rs.16,800/- p.a. for Science Students and Rs.14,400/- p.a. for Arts Students.

Minority Scholarship of Rs.3000/- + Rs. 2200/(Course Fee) Total and Rs.5,200/- p.a. ( optional Rs. 2,700/- for Hostel).

S.C. & S.T. Scholarship of Rs. 9,000/- plus Hostel Expenses.

Labour Welfare Scholarship of Rs.3,000/- to the Wards of Biri Workers.

Good learning environment and supportive facilities.

Placements: Placements are average in my course. Some students receive internships and job opportunities, while many prefer higher studies. The college also provides basic career guidance and placement support. It's good for all students who can decide their future.

Infrastructure: The college has good laboratories and a well-maintained library with useful academic resources. The classrooms are designed, and the overall campus environment is suitable for learning. I did not stay in the hostel, so I cannot comment on its facilities.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They explain the subject clearly. The curriculum is relevant, and the semester exams are of moderate difficulty, with a good pass percentage. Many students can achieve success and grow, it's really good.

Other: I chose this course because of my interest in Biology Science. The college has a peaceful campus and good laboratories, and a supportive learning environment. More placement opportunities and industry exposure would make the course even better.

Lack of placements, poor campus management, weak infrastructure, and outdated teaching.

Placements: This year's placement scenario has been really disappointing. Very few students have been placed. Most of them are through off-campus opportunities. There have not been enough good on-campus opportunities. Students have to completely depend on off-campus applications. What is even more frustrating is that, till now, not even a single student has been selected through an on-campus drive. It is difficult to understand what the placement cell has been doing while students are constantly worried about their future.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is poor. There is no proper maintenance or authority to take responsibility for damages. The water cooler does not work properly, and the walls are weak with cracks. If you unfortunately take admission in this college, it is better not to stay in the hostel, as the situation there is even worse.

Faculty: Talking about the course, the same outdated syllabus has been in use for decades. Exams are easier compared to other colleges. But the overall college study environment is not very effective. Most professors come with notes that they have been using for many years and teach the same content.

Other: There is no proper campus life and limited support from teachers. Earlier, the fee structure was lower compared to other colleges, but now the college has started competing with private colleges in terms of fees. Students can easily find better colleges within the same fee range. Do not waste your money and time here.

I would not strongly recommend this college if you are looking for placements.

Placements: I am currently in Semester IV of B.Com Honours. Our college does not have a proper placement cell so students do not get direct placement opportunities from campus. Most students have to search for jobs on their own after graduation. From what I have seen students who passed out earlier usually get starting salaries around Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 96,000 per month depending on their skills and connections. No major companies visiting the campus and internship opportunities are also not provided by the college.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. Classrooms are decent and usable but nothing very modern. Some rooms have basic facilities like fans and light. There is no advanced setup like smart boards in most classes. The library is available and has useful books for our course which help during exams. There is no proper Wi-Fi facility for students. As for other facilities the college does not provide much in terms of sports or medical support. Hostel facilities are also not available but overall campus facilities are basic and could definitely be improved.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They try their best to complete the syllabus on time. They take regular classes, presentations, and internal assessments. Some teachers explain topics clearly which makes it easier to understand. The curriculum is relevant for basic knowledge but it is not enough to make students fully industry-ready. Students need to develop skills on their own outside of college. Semester exams are not very difficult if you study properly. The pass percentage is good and most students pass without much trouble.

Although the curriculum is good and relevant, it turned out to be just a graduation degree for me.

Placements: No such placement process was there, just a general degree college, it was. If you want to do something, you have to find opportunities off campus. No recruitments or no companies hiring in this college. Each of the students who were involved in any kind of internship had found the opportunities by themselves.

Infrastructure: Outdated facilities, the library was there, but the classrooms were the same old ones, and labs were available for B.Sc. courses. The hostel was average, if not below. The canteen keeps on changing, most of the time, it was closed during my time. At the end of 2025, it had opened again, and the quality and atmosphere were pretty decent and clean now. Sports facilities were there, NCC, NSS, and other field sports.

Faculty: Honesty, the teachers were well-mannered and helpful, except for a few. I must mention that the teachers of our department's English are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The curriculum is quite relevant to the course you are choosing. But don't expect to be industry-ready because here, absolutely zero professional knowledge is gained in terms of corporate or other sectors. Semester exams are not that difficult, and the passing percentage is well above 70-80%.

Other: I chose this course just because I had no other choice, due to financial reasons. Nothing is best about it, but if you genuinely want to get expertise about Literature and pursue a career in teaching, then only it might be helpful. It would be better if the course included more practical, demonstration, and open-discussion sessions among the teachers and students. One yearly fest, Sankalp, happens every year in the college campus, crowd is less. Well-connected college, fairly near the railway station.

It is a nice college. Everything is good here.

Placements: Around 50-60 percent of students get placed. The lowest package offered ranges from 2-3 LPA. The highest package offered ranges from 5-6 LPA. Companies like Tata, Wipro, etc., recruit freshers from here. The maximum number of students got internships in many private companies. Roles like general manager, senior manager, etc., are given by many companies.

Infrastructure: Everything is good here. It has fully AC classrooms. Table tennis and carrom boards are available during free time. It has a small campus but good infrastructure. Good food is provided in the canteen with a different menu on different days. There are also well-decorated and cleaned classrooms and corridors.

Faculty: Teachers are so responsible for our increased marks. They take so many exams for each chapter and each subject. Industrial visits are conducted. Staff members' behaviour is good. They make students industry-ready. The pass percentage is 90 percent.

Other: I love business and want a job, so I chose the BBA course where I can do a corporate job and also have knowledge of business.

It is a good college. Don't expect huge placements and a salary.

Placements: 10-20 percent of students got placed after completing their course. The lowest package offered is 2.4, and the average package offered 3 LPA. Tata Consultancy Services is the top company that recruits students, as far as I know. 20-30 percent of students got internships from my course. I don't know about the top roles offered to students.

Infrastructure: All facilities are good in our department. We get free Wi-Fi in college. It has fully functional computer labs. There are good and AC classrooms. The library is always open. The quality of food in our college is so good. We have good sports like table tennis and carrom.

Faculty: Teachers are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They try to understand our problems. They always try to cooperate with us. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are of a moderate difficulty level. 95 percent of students pass in our college.

Other: I chose the course because I like business. The best thing about this course is that we can learn the core of the business industry. I don't think that would improve the course. The campus surroundings are good. The college organises a fest every year as usual. It also provides good scholarships.

You can choose Banaras Hindu University for MA english because the campus was nice and the fee was also less .you can go with BHU . Because BHU give you health facilities also with no extra cost .
