Burdwan University Scholarships and Funding
Post Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme for University Rank Holders at Undergraduate Level-
Eligibility- The First and Second Rank holders at the undergraduate level and admitted in any Postgraduate Course would be awarded the scholarship of Rs.3100/- p.m for a period of two years only (10 months in the year) i.e. full duration of a PG course. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges The scholarship is available to the student for first PG Degree only. Age limit for the students is 30 years at the time of admission in PG course.
Distance mode of education will not be considered under the scheme.
The Undergraduate courses from following streams have been identified for the award of scholarships:
1. Life Sciences 2. Physical Sciences 3. Chemical Sciences 4. Earth Sciences 5.Mathematical Sciences 6. Social Sciences 7. Commerce 8. Languages
Swami Vivekananda merit-cum-means scholarship scheme-
A) Scholarship at Undergraduate level (@Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 5000/- per month)-
Candidates must obtain at least 75% of marks in aggregate (Best of five). Students who are enrolled in the first year of the Undergraduate course in Engineering/Medical/General Education/ G.N.M. Nursing/ Para Medical Diploma Course under the aegis of Directorate of Medical Education after passing the H.S Examination or its equivalent Examination are eligible to apply.
B) Scholarship at Postgraduate level (@Rs. 2000/- to Rs. 5000/- per month)-
Candidates must obtain at least 53% of marks in Honours subjects at the Graduation level in General Education (55% marks in Graduation level in Honours subject of Engineering students) who are enrolled in the first year class of Post Graduate course in General Education /Engineering, are eligible to apply.
The university provides the Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship of Rs. 2,000/-p.m For 20 months and Post Graduate Scholarship for Single Girl Child.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of Rs.16,800/- p.a. for Science Students and Rs.14,400/- p.a. for Arts Students.
Minority Scholarship of Rs.3000/- + Rs. 2200/(Course Fee) Total and Rs.5,200/- p.a. ( optional Rs. 2,700/- for Hostel).
S.C. & S.T. Scholarship of Rs. 9,000/- plus Hostel Expenses.
Labour Welfare Scholarship of Rs.3,000/- to the Wards of Biri Workers.
Physically Handicapped Scholarship of Rs. 2880/- for Boarders in Hostels & Rs.2040/- who are not Boarders in the hostel.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- p.a.
National Board of Higher Mathematics Scholarship of Rs.72,000/- paid to 1(one) students who stood 1st in Hons. Exam.
National Handicapped Finance Dev. Corpn. of Rs. 10,000/- to 1(one) or 2(two) students.
MHRD-CSS Scholarship of Rs. 10,000/- p.a. for Graduation Level & Rs.20,000/- p.a. for Master Degree Level.
Sitaram Jindal Scholarship of Rs.6200/-, 4200/-, 1800/-.
O.N.G.C. Scholarship of Rs. 60,000/- p.a. paid to the students who stood 1st in M.Sc. Physics and Chemistry.

No, University Institute of Technology, The University Of Burdwan doesn't provide any full scholarship for students, but students can get Fee Waiver (FW) who have home state domicile and family income less than INR 1.5 Lakhs.
You can be eligible for few scholarships or fee reduction through the sport

You can choose Banaras Hindu University for MA english because the campus was nice and the fee was also less .you can go with BHU . Because BHU give you health facilities also with no extra cost .
