M.Sc. in Chemistry - Batch of 2022
3.6
Review of M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Chaudhary Devi Lal University.
Placements: There were decent on-campus placement opportunities available for our course at this college. Around 20–30% of the students get placed in our course. The average package offered was 3–5 LPA. Some chemical and pharmaceutical companies visit college for placements. Some students also get internships at this college.
Infrastructure: Chaudhary Devi Lal University had an above-average infrastructure for Masters in Chemistry. The college had chemistry labs with the proper equipment and solutions. Wi-Fi, a canteen, sports and all other facilities were also available for the students at this college. All these facilities were of good quality.
Faculty: The faculty of the college was helpful, qualified and knowledgeable about our course. The quality of the teaching was good. The course curriculum was relevant and made the students industry-ready. Practicals were done under the supervision and proper guidance of the teachers. Semester exams were of a moderately difficult level.

M.Sc. in Mathematics - Batch of 2023
Offered by Jan Nayak Ch. Devi Lal Memorial PG College
3.8
Decent experience but there is room for improvement.
Placements: Placement rates are fairly low being close to 40-50%. The highest package offered after this course is around 6 LPA, the lowest is 2.5 LPA with an average of 3 LPA. Only few companies recruit the students. Internships are rare. Top roles include Teaching, research, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: M.Sc. programme in Mathematics at JCD Memorial college provides solid education and opportunities. While placement rates could improve, the curriculum prepares us well for diverse career paths. Dedicated faculty and ample resources enhance the learning experience.
Faculty: Teachers are generally knowledgeable, but their teaching quality varies. Curriculum lacks industry focus, hindering readiness. Semester exams are moderately challenging with an average passing percentage in the college due to the poor attendance of the students as well as the teachers.

I am satisfied with this college because of its faculty members.
Placements: This course doesn't provide placement opportunities. Our college provides placement opportunities for MBA. The final-year students are eligible for placements. The university career counseling cell organises frequent extension lectures for career counseling.
Infrastructure: Our university provides free Wi-Fi to students in each department. Our university has an excellent library. It has books related to courses. Our department has a digital classroom. They conduct an annual athletic meet. Students get awards at the national and international levels in sports.
Faculty: Our faculty members are well-qualified. They are Ph.D. holders. Exams are moderate. If you study 1 month before the exams, you can score a good percentage. The course curriculum follows a choice-based credit system that provides flexibility to students.

This college is good but the placements are not good.
Placements: There are not any placements. I am studying in the chemistry department but no companies come for the placements. The department should call a different kind of pharmaceutical company for placements. There is not any internships program that universities should also adopt.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this university is very good. A Wi-Fi facility is available. The classroom and library are very good. There is a hostel facility also. There are a lot of cultural activities and sports, games, medical facilities are also available. The mess and canteen food are the best.
Faculty: Teachers in the department are very excellent for highly qualified, and they have a lot of teaching experience. The semester examinations are average. The teachers corporate the student for different kinds of activities, and there is also laboratory work which is helpful for students.
Other: I opted for this M.Sc chemistry course, because there is a scope in the pharmaceutical industry as well as teaching. The campus surrounding is beautiful. The scholarships schemes are also available for students.

I had a beautiful college life here.
Placements: About 40% of students got placed from our course. The lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA, and the highest salary package offered was 4 LPA. Top companies which visit here were Vita and Parle. Students got internships in Vita. The food inspector, quality control, manager, manufacturing department, etc., are the roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, Vivekanand library and labs are good here. Classrooms are also good. The hostel is very good, and the hostel fee is very low. The food served here is good and like homemade food. There are many canteens, and for medical facilities in the hostel, there is a nurse. An ambulance is always available here.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and cooperative here. They all are either PhD professors or assistant professors. Sometimes PhD scholars used to teach us, and all faculty members are well qualified. The course is very good, and lab practicals make us industry-ready. Exams were conducted semester wise, and 1/3th marks are the pass percentage in our college.
Other: I have done my graduation in community science in CCSHAU (Hisar). I wanted to join the food line, so I chose this course. The environment around students can be changed. Many events and fests like youth fest, many events of sports, etc., are organised in a multi-purpose hall, sports ground and herbal park or auditorium.

Review of Faculty of Life Sciences, Chaudhary Devi Lal University.
Placements: The placement cell is dormant and doesn't provide many industrial interactions except for a mandatory 6 weeks in-plant summer training programme at the end of the first year. For that training programme, the department provides a recommendation letter for the organisation of your choice.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility was provided to all students at very nominal charges. Rooms were spacious and co-operative. The mess is managed by students, and the food is provided based on monthly charges. The department is well-equipped with labs and equipment which are necessary for the programme. We had regular laboratory courses during the entire course duration.
Faculty: Faculty members were highly qualified as they all were NET qualified and doctorates in their respective fields. The course curriculum was properly balanced between core subjects and practical exposure. A mandatory research project programme in the second year and a seminar in 3rd semester add a lot of value to it.
Other: The admission for this course is provided mainly on the basis of score of CET. Remaining admissions are filled during physical counselling.

It's a memorable and a good experience in the University.
Placements: Three students of our batch got government jobs as school teachers, and they earn Rs. 50,000/month. Our seniors also got good jobs and are well settled. The super seniors are pursuing PhD in the university. Some of our batchmates are doing a private job and earning Rs. 20,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi speed is very good, and the labs were perfect. There are all the facilities for day scholar student and hostellers. There are four canteens in the university. The labs are well-equipped, and teachers are very co-operative. The library has all the books, and the hostel rooms are in good condition.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was good. They use smart classes, seminars and national conferences were organized too. In each stream, there were 50 students in each department, and the staff is good.
Other: Events, fests were organised and scholarships are given.

A review on Chaudhary Devi Lal University. Read before you go.
Placements: There are no on-campus placements at least in my stream. Students either opt for other programmes like PhD, B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Phil, etc. or prepare for exams like UGC, NET, UPSC, etc. Some prepare for banking exams or other job vacancies according to their qualification and interest. There are no on-campus placements as per my knowledge, or maybe I am not aware of any internship or placement facts. Please, confirm it yourself in detailed.
Infrastructure: This university was established around 15 years ago. So, the infrastructure is awesome. It is spread in acres. I haven't seen any short in electricity supply in my course duration of 5 years. I don't know about the medical facilities as I never required, but there is Wi-Fi connectivity. There are well-equipped computer labs and well-furnished library (at least I found those books which I required). Classrooms are nice, have good breathing space, tidy and not at all congested. I am not aware of sports and games facilities. The university covers much more area than those private deemed universities. Canteens are good. Food quality is nice. Majority of the food items are pre-packed, and rest is better than the food in bus stands or railway stations. I was a day scholar but visited some of my friends in the hostel. I would give 3 out of 5. If I were to stay, I would stay outside. I prefer to have an independent room. The rooms are tidy but are allotted to 2 to 4 people, and most of the students living in hostel prefer to study in the library. The reason is clear. Concentration tends to break when there are more people around. The infrastructure is perfect as per the fees they charge. The classrooms are neither air-conditioned nor they have coolers. I didn't face any issue with infrastructure as per my expectations.
Faculty: Since this is a government university, the teachers would definitely be qualified. Knowledge and qualification are different from each other. All teachers can be equally qualified but not necessarily be equally knowledgeable. Knowledge is a never-ending process and depends upon one's interest and curiosity to gain and not a quantitative trait. So, can't judge it exactly. Generally, the students prefer internet than anything else, especially in academic matters. I would rate the faculty 3/5. There is no direct industry exposure as per my knowledge. People have to find their job on their own. The course curriculum of this resembles with other universities, and I don't know how useful it is going to be in future.
Other: The campus is now almost in the city. Both bus stand and railway station come in the radius of 2-3 kilometres. Connectivity of roads is perfect. The campus shares its boundaries with the Mini-Secretariat. You can find a bunch of autorickshaws in the daytime. The police line is also nearby. There are many refreshment zones nearby like Domino's, etc. I have heard about the scholarship for reservation quota and sports quota students. For rest, I don't know. It is to be confirmed properly. Youth festival is organised every year. Conferences and seminars are organised from time to time. Majority of the crowd is from rural areas apart from courses like M.Sc. Biotechnology, MBA, etc. The worst thing according to me in the university is related to their non-teaching departments. Their working is too slow. A minor rectification in the Details Marks Certificate can take up to 6 months. Moreover, their behaviour is more pathetic (frustrated and lazy) than their working. Also, the results of the examinations are declared after 4-6 months. If one goes for re-evaluation, it further takes 100-120 days. It may spoil the year in case if the semester happens to be the last one. Most of the times, the results are not satisfactory. In general, one shouldn't expect more from government universities especially from staff (both teaching & non-teaching).
