M.Sc. in Geology - Batch of 2026

Very satisfied with the course here and the study area, and with this, I love the food.
Placements: In our college, no one is placed. There will be a placement ofcourse, sometime not now. There will be in the future because now it is only the 3rd batch which came to the campus in the department of geology, Central University of Jharkhand, so thats why there is no placement for geology.
Infrastructure: The new hostel is very good, food, and all things are good, but there is a very long distance to walk, and the food is excellent, and there are fewer markets nearby, but it is very good to study here because it feels good, and the sunset area is also very good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, with 3 teachers all from BHU and very knowledgeable, and the teaching is very good, and I love the subject because of the teachers who teach us the different branches of geology, and I love the subject because of the teachers who came from the IIT Bhi and completed their studies.
Other: Must come if you want to study geology because it is all geology here.

Study-wise it's good but don't hope for placements.
Placements: Student's placement is quite average. The highest package is 8 LPA, and the lowest package is 4 LPA. All the students of B.Sc. and B.Ed get unpaid internships in government as well as private colleges. Top roles offered to my course are teacher, scientist, professor, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, Wi-Fi is available, and classrooms are also good. Library is well-equipped, and advanced technology is being used to keep records. University lacks sports and games. Medical facilities are average. Canteen lacks vegetarian items.
Faculty: There are eminent teachers in our university who are permanent faculty members. Teachers are very cooperative, knowledgeable, qualified, and helpful. The curriculum is relevant, it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate to tough. Pass percentage is 40%.
Other: It would have been better if the course hadn't been self-financed. Studying in Central University of Jharkhand, we as students thought that the B.Sc. B.Ed. is not self-financed, and during the admission process or before admission, any information regarding the self-financed course is not provided.

The infrastructure is really good and is in the development phase.
Placements: I was in the 3rd year of my graduation, and in my batch, there were 26 students. We did the internship from different universities as well as from different colleges like BIT Mesra, BIT Sindri, Delhi University, and ICAR Kolkata, as we were in the third year.
Infrastructure: In our hostel, there were many facilities available for the hostel residents, like gym facilities, a common room for study, and the mess food was also good. We had both indoor and outdoor games available. The hostel had a lot of dustbins for hygiene.
Faculty: Questions that were asked in exams were not tough, they were in the pattern of easy to moderate. The semester examinations were good, and the students could also clear exams easily if they were regular in class, because teachers were so helpful. They guided us.
Other: No fest happened in our university; I didn't know why. The campus was not complete, and the construction work was going on. The scholarships were given only to students belonging to Jharkhand. There were no scholarships available for students from other states, and the academic fees were very high.

Absolutely dissatisfied with faculty members.
Placements: There is no placement here. In the case of a package, there is no package offered. There are no companies that visit for recruitment. 50% of students got internships. Internships have been provided in education. Maximum roles offered are professor, dean, coordinator, and HOD. In other departments, placements are available.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities are available but lab facilities are not in this department. There are less classrooms here. Sports and games are available in the department. There are no science honours faculty members. In case of medical facilities, for a certain period of time, doctors are available. But nurse is available.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified for B.Ed paper but science teachers are less. Guest faculty members are there for science stream. Passing percentage is good, minimum of 8 CGPA to 10 CGPA. Course curriculum frameworks are best that all cover at M.Sc. level also. Proper teaching is not there.
Other: Both degrees are getting in 4 years, one year is a rest. The thing that is improved at CUJ is the permanent faculty members for science stream, that's why students are so happy, and in future there are no difficulties.

No hostel for education department.
Placements: Placement is almost none in this course. But it prepares you for the TET so that you can pass examinations and give exams and interviews in organisations like Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya School and Government State Government schools in this course. Last year, you got an internship in either private or government school. For 4 months as a teacher that is not a way to get placement in that organisation.
Infrastructure: University infrastructure is almost very good. Almost every class has smart board projectors and sound system along with traditional boards. Physics lab, chemistry lab, computer labs are available. Excellent Wi-Fi service is available. But for this education course, hostel is not available. B.Ed students are not eligible for hostel facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are highly knowledgeable and well-qualified. Almost every teacher has doctorate, and few of them have post doctoral degree also. Few are very helpful while few only care about their duty and curriculum. Curriculum is well-designed by experts and follows UGC guidelines. Exams are moderate. It contains written, practical, and presentation parts.
Other: I chose this course because it was the only university that was providing this integrated program at that time. If anyone wants to have a career in research field and normal jobs as teachers and other designations, then this course is good for you. Few cultural fests are celebrated. Sports events are also celebrated.

Less profit with high expenses, but helpful teachers and good education.
Placements: There is no event or fest, the campus has a small crowd, and the connection among people is not very good. Only students from Jharkhand receive scholarships, while students from other states do not. The college is useless in terms of scholarships. I do extracurricular activities by collecting money and donations myself, as there is no special fund for this. I do not have a very good experience with this university.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi in the college is available, but it is not very useful, just for namesake. The classrooms are somewhat better, as smart boards have been recently installed, which is a good initiative. Labs of other departments are also available on the Bombay campus. The sports facilities are not great, as there is no playing equipment or gym. The medical facilities are slightly better.
Faculty: My department is pretty good in these areas. Teachers are good, friendly, and provide full support in various matters. It is good for studies. But not so great for extracurricular activities. The semester exams are easy, yet some people still end up getting backlog in the exam.
Other: There are no events or fests, and there is a small crowd on campus. The connection among people is not very strong. Only students from Jharkhand receive scholarships; students from other states do not. The college is not very helpful in terms of scholarships. I have done extracurricular activities by collecting money and donations myself, as there is no special fund for this. I do not have a very good experience with this university.
