Placements: The placement percentage for the Department of Economics at Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University is very low, around 5%. The top recruiting companies are Utkarsh Small Finance and Bandhan Bank. Most internships are with professors and research scholars in the department of Economics, where students assist with research writing and data collection. The top roles offered in the MA Economics program are Risk Analyst and Research Analyst.

Infrastructure: The Department of Economics has a dedicated building on the university premises, which promotes good connectivity between faculty and students. Students have access to the central libraries, which are open 24/7 and provide free Wi-Fi and digital library access to students and some research scholars.

Faculty: The course curriculum is well designed according to the UGC guidelines and is best for our UGC NET & JRF. There are generally 3 faculty over 60 students. All faculty members are UGC NET qualified and have a PhD. DDU Gorakhpur is known for conducting exams on time and has a NAAC ++ ranking. The semester exams are quite easy as they are based on questions from the syllabus provided by the University. The professors teach the most relevant topics for the exams.

Other: I chose to study economics because it is my favorite subject and it allows me to apply my knowledge of mathematics to solve real-world problems. The university offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including sports, NCC, NSS, and Scout Guide programs. The central library is open 24 hours a day, and the university hosts events such as Gorakhpur Mahotsav and Alumina Meet.
