Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, popularly known as BAOU Ahmedabad is an open university in Gujarat. The university offers a two-year MA course. At BAOU, this course is taught through the School of Humanities and Social Sciences across five specialisations. For the completion of this course, the minimum duration is two years and the maximum duration is six years. The university accepts admission to MA through the performance of candidates in their previous qualifying exams.

The placement cell of the University establishes contact with industrial houses to arrange training and placement opportunities for the students. The BAOU placement cell also organises campus interviews and has signed MoUs with various business organisations and placement agencies. The MSW programme offered by the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University is exclusively designed for those who have knowledge of the Gujarati language.
