Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, also known as HITS, was established in 1985 and is located in Kelambakkan, Chennai. It is a member of AIU and is accredited by the IAO, NBA,  and NAAC with an 'A' Grade. Further, it is a deemed-to-be University and is recognised by the UGC. At present, the university offers more than 100 courses in diverse streams such as Engineering, Management, Law, Humanities, Science, and more. Apart from this, the university has a sprawling campus of over 150 acres with all the modern facilities. 

The total tuition fee for the BTech course ranges between INR 1.8 Lakhs to INR 13 lakhs. Apart from this, the candidate also has to pay hostel and one-time fee to pursue BTech course at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science commonly known as Hindustan University.

Multiple-choice questions will be asked in HITSEEE exam to check students' proficiency in fundamental subjects, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English, General Knowledge. The top scorers at national level will get a merit-based scholarship to do their graduate studies at HITS.

Hindustan University offers good placements annually for its various courses like MBA, BPharma and BTech, etc. As per the latest report, a total of 1,364 students were placed and 93.94% placement rate was recorded during Hindustan University placements 2024. Further, the the highest package offered during the 2022 placement drive stood at INR 12.75 LPA. HITS Chennai MBA curriculum includes theory and practical subjects. The two-year course is divided into four semesters. Candidates also have to do a summer project and submit a final project. The practical subjects covered in the programme are business communication, computer lab and software application. Moreover, the specialisation specific subjects are included from the third semester of the programme.
