The students who have passed Class 12 in Science stream with at least 75% aggregate (65% aggregate for SC/ST/PwD) are eligible to apply. Candidate should have passed the qualifying exam from a recognised board. In addition, it is also crucial that the applicant hold the relevant documents as a proof of eligibility.

Candidates are chosen for a personal interview round based on all of these factors. The total number of seats available is 152.
