IIT Bombay Hostel

IIT Bombay hostel facilities are well-known for their advanced amenities and attractive hostel life. The institute has a total of 18 hostels, which are managed and coordinated by the Hostel Coordinating Unit (HCU) of IIT Bombay. Students living inside the hostel premises of the institute get a private caterer serving meals. A well-equipped sports complex is also available separately for every hostel.

The first-year students from all the UG & PG courses are allocated the same hostel. This hostel-sharing facility is only applicable in the first year of the respective courses. Apart from the regular students, the hostel rooms are also allotted to external interns during summer and winter internships. Other than that, the Guest accommodation facility is also provided for one week to parents visiting their children at the campus.

IIT Bombay Library

The Central Library of IIT Bombay has a repository of knowledge for its students. The library has a mix of both traditional and modern learning resources. The Central Library is indexed with an overall of 5 lakh books, extensive theses, publications, journals and various other reading materials. Moreover, there are around 1000 CDs, 231 DVDs and E-books in store. Along with that, the library is equipped with modern plagiarism detection software and provides an electronic collection of research to boost digital learning.

IIT Bombay Sports Facilities

IIT Bombay facilitates students by promoting their physical development through sports. The institutes provide a dynamic range of gaming options such as Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Lawn Tennis, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, etc. Every individual hostel has its own Volleyball and Basketball courts.
