Excellent college for GME.

Faculty: The curriculum focuses more on Marine Engineering components with practical aspects and hands-on experience. We also get an immersive learning experience through the virtual reality modules developed in-house at HIMT by the Chief Engineers and Master Mariners. Faculty members are the best in terms of core job experience and are seasoned teachers who understand our depth and teach effectively.

In my college, in my batch, 95% of students pass and are placed. Teachers are well-experienced.

Faculty: Teachers have immense experience at sea. They share the challenges and experiences they face. All my teachers have more than 20 years of experience on ships, so they have strong knowledge and teaching skills. Teachers follow the curriculum. It makes students industry-ready with safety awareness and risk understanding. Teaching is good, so exams are easy and the pass percentage is high.

The mess food and accommodation totally disappointed us.

Faculty: Staff and faculty members are good. Education-wise, it is good. Semester exams are tough to clear. Faculty members won't help with the semester exams. The pass percentage is above 70 percent.

The college provides a disciplined environment with limited exposure to outside life.

Faculty: Teachers are decent and have good practical knowledge and teaching skills. HIMT invites visiting faculty members with years of sea experience to familiarize students with life at sea. Smart boards are used for interactive teaching. Teachers are strict and focus strongly on discipline. The course curriculum is highly relevant and follows IMU guidelines strictly, which helps make students industry-ready. Exams are fairly easy, with almost a 100% passing percentage in DNS.

It is an excellent college with great facilities and infrastructure.

Faculty: Captain, chief officer, chief engineer and other level experienced officers teach and share their knowledge with us. They are helping and very supportive. College rules and regulations shape us by making time punctual and following the instructions given, and time-to-time fire drills and regular muster are being conducted. The level of examination is moderate.

Absolutely worthy to join HIMT. HIMT teaches us to tackle loneliness, homesickness, and challenges.

Faculty: Teachers are so helpful as they were Captains who already been there on ships and carried out many cargo operations, mooring operations, voyages, etc., during their whole career. They taught us everything according to the syllabus and also taught us the real-life challenges that we gonna face in the upcoming years at sea.

No if you did not score a minimum of 60% in PCM in your 12th grade examination you are generally not eligible for admission to the Indian Maritime University for the Marine engineering course even if you clear your compartment exam in the same year
