JNTUH MCA Eligibility & Highlights 2023

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) offers a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course. There are nine JNTUH-affiliated colleges that also offer MCA courses. The duration of the course can be from two to three years. Admission to the PG-level course is entrance-based. The university accepts TSICET or Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test scores for admissions, followed by counselling. Absolutely satisfied with the infrastructure.

Placements: About 50% of students are placed in the MCA course. The highest package offered in my course is 10 LPA, especially since the MCA course was new to the college. Top recruiting companies included Cognizant, Infosys, Accenture, and many more. The top roles offered in my course were software developer, data analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: High-speed internet is offered in classrooms and labs, and the library is the star of our college, providing group discussion rooms for meetings and interviews. Hostel life is very good, with the best quality food in the mess, and hostel rooms are provided with AC. We also have a medical area. Our college conducts a wide range of sports and gives students opportunities to prove their skills.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, not only in academics but also in providing guidance. They are highly qualified. The curriculum of our MCA course is designed to make students industry-ready in all aspects. The semester exams are of moderate difficulty, and the pass percentage is around 90%.

Other: I have chosen this course because many companies are now focusing on MCA. The best thing about my course is that it is a mix of all kinds, which will make me a perfect software engineer and developer. There is nothing to improve. We can see many events in a year, which are of different types like technical and non-technical. Each and every group conducts different types of fests. There are lots and lots of extracurricular activities. The main reason to choose this course is that for every semester, our college conducts industrial visits for live experience.

Good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: I’m from the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program, and when it comes to our placement statistics, I feel genuinely proud. For our batch, around 70–75% of students are placed through campus and pooled drives. While not everyone landed their dream job, most of us secured decent roles that helped kickstart our careers in IT.

Infrastructure: Our MCA department has smart classrooms, decent Wi-Fi, computer labs with updated systems, and a quiet library. The hostels were adequate, and the mess food was average but manageable. We had a small clinic on campus, and sports like cricket and volleyball made college life lively.

Faculty: Most teachers were helpful and well-qualified, especially in core subjects like Python, DBMS, and Java. The teaching quality was decent, though some subjects felt outdated. The curriculum was partially relevant; we learned good fundamentals but lacked deep exposure to trending technologies like cloud computing, DevOps, and real-time tools. While it provided a solid foundation, it did not make us fully industry-ready. Therefore, we had to upskill ourselves through online platforms and projects.

My review about this college.

Placements: Our college had a good placement record in previous years. All students got placed before the completion of the degree. Job opportunities were plenty, companies visited the campus throughout the year. We had a wide range of companies offering jobs. There were very good companies in placements. Recruiting companies were Infosys, Cognizant, HCL, Mindtree, Amazon.com, TCS, Genpact, Cyient, Osmosys, etc. They offered a basic package of 2 LPA - 3.5 LPA, and the highest was 17 LPA. Almost 70% of our students got placed. College will provide internships for the students. There was a separate placement cell in the university.

Infrastructure: College had two hostels separately for boys and girls. It could hold a capacity of 160 students. There was a good sharing with two people in each room. An annual fee of 20,000 needed to be paid at the start of the academic year. Food was good and healthy. College provided bus facility to the hostel students. The hostel seats were very limited.

Faculty: Faculty members should go into depth while teaching. Faculty members were good at teaching and sharing their experience with the students. They had a cool mindset, and our college was an autonomous college. It had given them an extra edge to teach their students what they want. The industrial experience of our professors was more than enough to relate to the theoretical part. Semester exams for each six months each semester consist of atleast two labs and six subjects. We had a CGPA system to provide the marks to the students it was free not that much hectic for us. Curriculum was very good in regard to many subjects-oriented things. Every subject was given equal priority. My complete focus was on practical learning to improve myself to build my future.

Choosing JNTU Hyderabad CSE is best in my opinion because it is in a good city, whereas NIT Andhra Pradesh is in a village.

JNTUH is well established, whereas NIT Andhra Pradesh is still in the process

Even the fee will be higher for NIT Andhra Pradesh than JNTUH.
