Lovely Professional University (LPU) holds respectable rankings both nationally and internationally, showing it's recognised as a solid higher education institution. According to the NIRF India Rankings 2025, LPU is placed 31st among all universities (including government and private) in India, and it also has subject‑wise ranks such as 48th in Engineering and 44th in Management. These rankings reflect the university's overall academic performance, infrastructure, outcomes and reputation within the country. On the international front, the QS World University Rankings 2026 positions LPU in the 901–950 band globally, and around 31st among Indian universities in the QS list, which shows global visibility alongside emerging research and academic metrics. This combination of national and global rankings indicates that LPU is well‑established and competitive, though not among the very top tier like the IITs or top central universities. Its placement shows it performs well particularly among large private universities in India.

Between Lovely Professional University (LPU) and DIT University (Dehradun) for Computer Science Engineering (CSE), both are solid private options but they differ in focus and outcomes: LPU is bigger with a wider national presence, larger placements and higher brand visibility, while DIT University is more focused and niche with strong CSE outcomes and a focused academic environment.LPU has a larger placement ecosystem with many companies visiting and some CSE students getting high packages (often top offers above ₹50+ LPA), decent average packages for strong performers, and structured industry exposure through projects and internships. It is also ranked higher nationally within universities and engineering categories.DIT University in Dehradun has a good CSE placement record too, with students securing roles in top companies like Microsoft and Palo Alto Networks with packages reportedly up to ₹58 LPA, and its curriculum strongly oriented toward employability. The placement rate is around 80–90 % annually with an average in the range of ₹5–7 LPA. Summary: If you want broader campus exposure, larger recruiter pool and brand value, LPU is generally considered better. If you prefer a focused technical environment with steady placements and smaller class settings, DIT University is a strong choice. Your personal goals, budget and comfort with campus lifestyle should guide the final decision.

LPU generally has a larger placement ecosystem with more recruiters visiting campus, including major IT service companies and some product-based firms. The highest packages reported are usually higher at LPU due to its scale. ITER also has decent placements, especially within Odisha and nearby regions, but the overall recruiter volume is comparatively smaller.ITER (under SOA University) has recognition in Odisha and is known for decent academic performance. LPU has national visibility, appears in NIRF rankings, and attracts students from across India.LPU has a much larger CSE intake, which means more competition. ITER has relatively smaller batches, which may allow more individual attention.LPU offers a very large campus, modern labs, coding culture, hackathons, and industry certifications. ITER also has good labs and academic infrastructure, but on a smaller scale. If your priority is maximum placement exposure and national-level recruiter participation - LPU is generally stronger.

At Lovely Professional University (LPU), the first‑year B.Tech classes (including CSE) for the 2026–27 academic session are expected to start with the Autumn Term (Term I) in August 2026, typically around the first week of August, following the reporting and induction schedule for fresh students. This aligns with the academic calendar which shows that the next term for new batches begins in August (around 10 August 2026) for all full‑time programmes, including engineering, after the completion of the previous session's summer term.Traditionally, LPU also conducts induction/orientation activities just before the academic sessions begin, and exact dates may vary slightly by department and counselling rounds, so you'll receive official reporting details from the LPU admission office or your student dashboard (UMS/LPUTouch app) closer to the start date.

If you compare Computer Science Engineering (CSE) placements at Lovely Professional University and SRM Institute of Science and Technology, both universities have active placement systems with many IT companies visiting their campuses every year.SRM is well known for its strong tech programs and has a long-standing reputation in engineering placements. However, LPU also conducts very large placement drives where companies like Amazon, Capgemini, and Cognizant recruit students for software roles. Because of the large number of recruiters and the variety of CSE specializations, many students feel that LPU provides broad opportunities, especially if they actively work on coding skills, projects, and internships during the course.

Yes — you can pursue Logistics and Supply Chain Management at LPU, Chitkara University, and BML Munjal University (BML), but what programmes are available and how you get in varies slightly by school:• LPU: Lovely Professional University offers BBA in Cargo, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, a full‑time 3‑year UG degree after Class 12 with eligibility typically 50‑60 % in 10+2 and direct admission through the LPU portal without requiring a separate entrance exam. This programme prepares you for operational, analytical and management roles in supply chain and logistics. • Chitkara University: Chitkara offers both BBA in Logistics & Supply Chain Management and a specialised MBA in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, with admissions based on 10+2 marks and interview for BBA, and CAT/MAT/CMAT or university test for the MBA. The curriculum blends business fundamentals with logistics, operations and supply chain strategy to build managerial skills. • BML Munjal University (BML): BML also offers BBA and MBA programmes with specialisation or electives in Supply Chain/Operations Management, and admission is generally through national or university entrance exams plus interview. In short, yes — all three colleges provide pathways to study Logistics and Supply Chain Management, with LPU and Chitkara offering clear UG options, and BML typically positioning on a similar management track depending on the exact programme you choose. Requirements usually include Class 12 marks for UG and bachelor's + entrance scores for MBA.

To qualify for LPU's M.Sc. Agriculture (Agronomy) program through LPUNEST (PG Agriculture) or CUET PG entrance exams for merit-based scholarships, you need to achieve 55-60 percent marks from your B.Sc. Agriculture degree. The application process at LPU begins after you choose an exam date because you need to complete testing which includes a 100-point exam and counseling along with document verification. The 2026 program fee totals approximately ₹4.8-5 lakhs, covering 4 semesters at a rate of ₹1.2 lakhs per semester before scholarships, with LPUNEST performance granting 10-50 percent fee discounts (e.g., Category I: 90+ marks for up to 50% off, down to ₹72,000/semester).

Yes — you can take admission in Lovely Professional University (LPU) without appearing for LPUNEST for many undergraduate programmes, including BBA, B.Sc, BA, and some B.Tech specialisations, depending on the eligibility criteria. Since you're expecting 70–79 % in your 10+2 board exams, you meet the minimum academic requirement for direct admission based on merit. In such cases, LPU allows students to apply online through the official admission portal, pay the seat reservation fee (usually ₹10,000), and submit required documents like mark sheets and ID proof. However, note that LPUNEST is mandatory for availing scholarships and for certain high-demand programmes, especially core B.Tech branches like CSE or Electronics. Without LPUNEST, you may still get admission, but scholarship opportunities and some preferred specialisations may be limited. Overall, with your board marks, you can secure a seat at LPU without LPUNEST, but taking the test can enhance both admission options and financial benefits.
