After graduating from Himalayan Garhwal University, BSc graduates are eligible to take up various jobs in the government sector. They may have to apply and appear for the recruitment exams leading to these government jobs. Merit Scholarship will be given to those students who perform best in their class. Number and value of the scholarship will be recommended by the Board of Management and Decided by the Board of Governors every year. Academic, sports, and all scholarship are available in different fields. 

MAHGU provides placement support to students enrolled in its BSc courses. However, the university has not yet released the course-specific placement report pertaining to BSc. Hence, it is difficult to ascertain how good the university's BSc placements are. As per the overall placement statistics sourced from MAHGU reviews on Shiksha.com, the university recorded a placement rate of 95% in the recent years. A students pursuing BSc at the university commented that the highest and the lowest salary packages offered during MAHGU BSc placements were INR 5 LPA and INR 2.7 LPA, respectively.

31% of the total seats are reserved by MAHGU for students who are permanent residents of Uttarakhand. In addition to this, the university sets seats aside for those who are PWD (those with a minimum impairment of 40%) and SC/ST/OBC.
