Manav Bharti University is a private university located in the Solan district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. In the 2023 rankings by unirank MBU is ranked 1st in Solan and 488th in India. MAT is conducted multiple times a year. Most of the MBA entrance exams in India are conducted annually. MAT is the only exam that is conducted multiple times in four phases and multiple exam modes. To make it possible for every MBA aspirant to appear for an entrance exam, AIMA designed MAT, which can be taken by candidates from an exam center as well as at home. The exam is held in February, May, September, and December, which allows candidates to prepare and plan for it as well as for MBA admission. In each of these four months, the MAT is conducted in CBT, PBT, and IBT modes. Candidates can choose a date and a mode of exam based on their preparation and convenience. Registrations for each MAT exam phase start a month earlier. Candidates can also take re-tests in the same academic session if they are not happy with their scores.

The minimum eligibility for admission is that candidates must have passed 10+2 examination with PCM as the main subjects with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.

The test score of all National or State level entrance tests such as CAT or MAT will be considered for MBA courses.

The entrance exam for MBU is called the MBU entrance test. If a student has not appeared in any National or State entrance test they must appear in the MBU Entrance Test.

The University offers Lateral entry admission for B.Tech programs and for this purpose candidates must have passed Diploma or B.Sc.

Manav Bharti University may follow a seat reservation policy. However, based on the old statistics, 25% of seats are reserved for bona fide students of Himachal Pradesh. The university allocates the seats for various courses based on the applicants' merit in the qualifying exam, performance in the entrance test, and the number of seats allotted for the programme. However, the university may consider the protocol for seat reservations for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped) as established by the national or state governments.
