MMU Solan offers direct admission to some of the programmes based on their merit. Candidates seeking admission in BSc, BVoc, MSc, Diploma and value-added courses are selected based on their qualifying exam scores. Once selected, aspirants have to participate in counselling and seat allotment process. Aspirants also have to confirm their seat by paying the course fee.

MMU Solan offers admission to candidates based on their merit or entrance exam scores. The university conducts entrance tests for admission to PhD, BSc Nursing and GNM programmes. MMU also accepts NEET and NEET PG scores for admission to MBBS and MD/ MS courses, respectively. For all other courses, selection is based on qualifying exam scores of the candidates. The requirement of entrance exam varies course-wise. Aspirants seeking admission in BSc Nursing, GNM and PhD courses have to appear for the entrance exam conducted by MMU Solan. For MD/ MS and MBBS programmes, the seats are offered to candidates based on their NEET-PG and NEET-UG scores, respectively. For all other courses, aspirants do not require passing any entrance test. MMU Solan Bsc admission to nursing courses i.e., BSc and GNM is made through an Entrance Examination conducted by the MM University while admission to rest of the BSc specialisations is based on marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying examination in Class 12 in the medical stream.

Maharishi Markandeshwar University conducts its own entrance examination for admission to the nursing courses which include BSc in Nursing and GNM. Else, admission to all the other specialisations is entirely merit-based on marks secured in Class 12 examination in medical stream.

MMU Solan offers seats to candidates in MSc programme based on their merit in the last qualifying exam. Aspirants should have passed graduation to apply for preferred MSc specialisations. There are a total of 25 seats available in the MSc programmes. The intake includes all the specialisations. Selected candidates are required to confirm their seat by paying the course fee.

MMU Solan BSc college comparison is based on the tuition fees and the total seat intake in comparison to IEC University. MMU Solan BSc fees ranges between INR 1.20 Lacs and INR 2.80 Lacs while the fees charged by IEC University for the BSc programme ranges between INR 1.05 Lacs and INR 1.35 lakh.

The hostel fees at Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Solan is 24000 for male and female both have the same fee.The hostels are in the campus and not far away from the college. The students are accommodation is on 2 students and 1 room basis. Each one of is has to share or room with 1 student. Hostel rooms are neat and clean, hygiene is pretty well maintained, house keepers daily comes in the room to clean. There are 2 seater rooms.

Candidates who have completed Class 12 are eligible to apply for MMU Solan UG courses. The university offers BSc, BVoc, MBBS, BSc Nursing, etc. at the UG level. The aggregate requirement for most of the UG programmes is 50%. There is a relaxation of 5% in aggregate for SC/ ST candidates for some of the courses. Candidates also need to appear for entrance test for admission to a few UG programmes.
