Established in 2011 by the Haryana State Legislature under Haryana Act No. 16, NIILM University is based in Kaithal, Haryana. It is a private university which has gained approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It offers multi-disciplinary courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and diploma level in diverse streams like Engineering and Technology, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Application and Legal Studies.
The University comprises seven schools offering courses across specialisations like Agriculture and Forestry, Law, Hotel Management and Tourism, Applied Science, Mass Media and Communication, Management and Fashion Technology. NIILM University Admission Process
The process of NIILM University admission 2020 is conducted in both online as well as offline modes. Admission to courses are either done on the basis of merit, score in national-level or University-conducted entrance exams. Details regarding eligibility criteria for different courses are shared below:
- BSc, BCom and BBA: Candidates are shortlisted basis their merit in Class 12; they are also required to clear the entrance test conducted by the University, followed by appearing in the Personal Counselling session
- LLB, BALLB, MA and MSc: Admission to these courses is entirely based on a candidate's marks in the previous qualifying exam
- PhD: Admission is subject to a candidate’s performance in the entrance test, interview conducted by the University along with marks obtained in the qualifying examinations like UGC NET 2020 / CSIR NET 2020 / GATE 2020; students fulfilling the below given conditions, can secure direct admissions:
- Teacher Fellowship / MPhil degree holders who have already cleared the entrance test
- ME/MTech degree holders from a statutory university
- Teachers with five years of regular (unconditional approval) teaching experience at UG/PG level
- Research scholars / senior citizens who have completed Bachelor’s degree with 55% aggregate along with 15 years’ experience in the relevant field
- Haryana domicile students are given priority in admission to all courses by the University

NIILM University Courses
NIILM University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with varied durations. It provides a four-year BTech programme along with three-year duration courses like BTech (Lateral Entry), LLB, BSc, BCom, BBA and MCA. Other PG courses like MSc, MCom and MBA are of two years whereas BALLB at the UG level is of five years. The doctoral level course i.e. PhD can be opted in full-time/ part-time/ off-campus modes as per students’ preference.
