Not so good.
Even though the Training and Placement department of NITT shows above 95% placement rate,it is only after going through an initial screening process called CPC'S conducted by immediate seniors of the same branch.Only about 40 out of a current batch of 60 are eligible to sit for placements after successfully passing the CPC process. From these 40 only 12-15 people get placed in core Metallurgy companies like Tata Steel,TVS,Tata Motors,Reliance etc.The rest opt for Management companies(generally Analyst roles) like KPMG,PWC etc and some other companies like Amazon, Flipkart.
The packages offered for core companies isn't that good and is around 9 for Tata Steel and others average 6 LPA.Management Firms offer a better initial pay of above 9 and hence the trend.Despite all these some of them go for higher studies, some take care of their own business and some startup few companies.
Bottom Line
If you are looking into this field as a prospective career option due to passion/interest well and good. But if its just for a good initial pay,not so much.

IIIT H is the best among all. It is even better than many of the IITs in the case of graduation outcomes on the basis of computer Science. It is primarily focused on IT field. Go for it.
Cheers.

Look, it totally depends on you. It depends on your field of interest and what you want to do. I personally feel there are two ways of choosing a college.
1. If you have decided your field and branch of study and you are determined in that than go for the branch irrespective of NIT, IIT or IIIT.
2. If you are unsure of the branch, then I would recommend, first research the course guidelines of the above-stated branches and outcomes of the same and then see which matches your interest best because 4 years is not a short period. Based on your decision, you have to study the particular branch for a long period. If you can see yourself studying that, then do apply. You have to be very careful while deciding this. Now, let's come to the studies, environment and other factors and most important to me. As I have seen, observed and talked to the peers in the IIT NIT and other colleges as well. Teaching is more or less same everywhere. In college, you have to study yourself and it is totally up to you, whether you limit yourself to college level studies or you study more advanced topic yourself, which you can do in every college. So, what all factors are left? Overall development: If you choose any old IIT, you will get tremendous opportunities to showcase yourself. IITs are the best in extracurricular. You name it and they have a club for each and every field be it related to technology, dance, debating, designing, journalism etc. The best platform to develop your personality, to try everything, to be around a good environment, to build good connections and networks is IIT. What I feel personally is, it is the best platform to discover yourself, to discover your interests and what not irrespective of branch. IIIT: They are the best in the field of IT, better than most of the IIT. And the graduation outcomes are awesome. But the extracurricular and the exposure cannot be compared to IIT. But then again, it totally depends upon you. Personally, if I would not have decided the branch then my preference level would be.
1. IIT
2. IIIT
3. NIT
4. DTU

I believe the credibility of the above statement depends on how you judge the NITs. If your judgement is purely based on placements and packages, then I can assure with no doubt that NIT-Trichy is not just the best among all NITs but also better than a few IITs. However, if you also take into account student facilities, mess food, internet access and faculty profiles, then I myself doubt it.
2. Students have a greater role to play here than any other college.
It's true, students of NIT Trichy are not just mere college-going children, but they are involved in extra and co-curricular works, projects and clubs of far greater significance. While the computing clubs like Delta Force are the sole incharge of the college website & LAN, the entrepreneurship club ECELL have made their presence felt across the globe with their flagship annual event Ventura. Besides these, there are leisure clubs like Karate, Photography, Movie Making, Dance Troupe, Music Troupe, etc. Other technical clubs include GLUG-T (Linux & FOSS) and Sun Club (JAVA & Open Source Apps).
3. An abundant number of events for the students to keep them busy for the entire year.
NIT Trichy can boast of a huge number of quality student events that take place annually. It ranges widely from the fresher parties organized by the student clubs to various kinds of campus games and contests, along with the academic classes on Java, Linux, MATLab, C+, web, etc., by the technical clubs. Moreover, the college's main events like Pragyan, Festember and NITT Fest are entirely managed by the students with literally no intervention from the authorities.
4. The prestigious Bachelor of Survival degree (B.Surv).
Every student of NIT Trichy not only gets a B.Tech degree but also a B.Surv degree (though he doesn't get a certificate for that). By survival in NIT Trichy, I mean surviving the extremities the authorities push the students into. With exams next morning and power being cut-off from your hostels, with the horrible quality of mess food, with drinking water problems and just 10 kbps internet access, if you're still able to complete your B.Tech in 4 years, then you truly are worthy of a B.Surv.
5. NIT Trichy is a haven for Computer Science and VLSI students.
As far as VLSI is concerned, NITTrichy is considered as the best in the country. The faculty of the ECE Department are especially dedicated towards VLSI and have a number of modern laboratories for that purpose. OCTAGON, the largest computing centre.

All IITs are good.
Also, NIT Tiruchirappalli is the best and the oldest among other NITs with excellent placements and infrastructure.
