NLU Ranchi admissions for UG and PG courses opens with CLAT registration. CLAT applications are usually open in July and go on till October. Candidates have to apply for CLAT online. There is no deadline released for PhD course. Once the applications are open, candidates can apply for PhD on the official website of NLU Ranchi.

CLAT cutoff 2024 is released for various categories including General, OBC, SC and ST amongst others. As per the CLAT 2024 the All India closing ranks for the General category stood at 1432. For OBC category, the closing ranks stood at 2733.
Going as per the aforementioned cutoffs, candidate with an AIR 2428 and OBC 278 is eligible for the OBC catgeory and not the General category. Since as of now, only Round 3 Seat Allotment has been released, candidates with the mentioned AIR can wait until remaining rounds for the further cutoffs.
The closing rank for Round 3 for BA LLB (Hons) course was 1432 for the General category students in 2024. The rank was lower in 2023 (1485) and 2022 (1490). The rank indicates that candidates must have a rank below 1500 to get NLU Ranchi for pursuing BA LLB (Hons) course.
Candidates need to pass Class 12 with at least 45% to apply for National University of Study and Research in Law Ranchi. Aspirants must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at later stages of admission. NUSRL Ranchi offers five-year BA LLB (Hons) course spread across 10 semesters. The selection for the NLU Ranchi BA LLB (Hons) course is based on CLAT score.
According to the NIRF report 2023, a total of 146 students graduated and 31 students were placed in the 2022 placements. The placed students included 26 UG students and 5 PG students. NUSRL Ranchi median package stood at INR 10.07 LPA for UG students and INR 6 LPA for PG students.
The highest package offered for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) students at NUSRL Ranchi in 2023 was INR 18 LPA.
The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, offers very promising placements for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) students.
About 90% of students who take part in campus placements receive respectable placement offers with pay packages ranging from 6 LPA to 20 LPA. About 50% of students participate in campus placements. Businesses that come to the college for placements include Wadia Gandhy, Singh and Associates, Khaitan, Luthra, SAM, CAM, and NDA Singh and Associates. The largest compensation package, which ranges from 17 to 18 LPA, is offered at an average rate of about 7 LPA.
