NLU Ranchi Cutoff 2025 (Out): Check CLAT Round Wise Ranks

NUSRL Ranchi offers a wide range of law courses. It accepts the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) score to select candidates. The consortium of NLUs releases the cutoffs for admissions to various law courses in different NLUs. According to the NLU Ranchi CLAT cutoff 2024 for the Fifth Round of Allotment, the Last Round ranks for the General AI category for BA LLB(Hons) and LLM in Intellectual Property Rights were in 1594 and 1623, respectively. The closing rank for Round 3 for BA LLB (Hons) course was 1432 for the General category students in 2024. The rank was lower in 2023 (1485) and 2022 (1490). The rank indicates that candidates must have a rank below 1500 to get NLU Ranchi for pursuing BA LLB (Hons) course. 

CLAT cutoff 2024 is released for various categories including General, OBC, SC and ST amongst others. As per the CLAT 2024 the All India closing ranks for the General category stood at 1432. For OBC category, the closing ranks stood at 2733.

Going as per the aforementioned cutoffs, candidate with an AIR 2428 and OBC 278 is eligible for the OBC catgeory and not the General category. Since as of now, only Round 3 Seat Allotment has been released, candidates with the mentioned AIR can wait until remaining rounds for the further cutoffs.    

As of now, CLAT Round 3 Seat Allotment results have been released for NLU Ranchi cutoff 2024. The All India opening and closing ranks for NLU Ranchi for the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) is 1432 for the General category under the Vertical Reservation.

CLNU is expected to release a total of five rounds of counselling. For the LL.M. in Intellectual Property Rights course the All India opening and closing ranks for NLU Ranchi 1300 for the General category All India candidates. The CNLU will release CLAT Round 4 Seat Allotment result on May 20, 2024.

Candidates need to pass LLB or a five-year integrated BA LLB/ any other equivalent exam with a minimum of 55% aggregate to apply for NLU Ranchi LLM course. No, you cannot take admission to the BA LLB (Hons) course of NUSRL Ranchi without a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) score. Admission to law programmes at the National Law Universities is based on this exam score only. The exam is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Thus, the course aspirants must take the entrance test to secure a seat in the integrated programme.

Candidates need to pass Class 12 with at least 45% to apply for National University of Study and Research in Law Ranchi. Aspirants must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at later stages of admission. NUSRL Ranchi offers five-year BA LLB (Hons) course spread across 10 semesters. The selection for the NLU Ranchi BA LLB (Hons) course is based on CLAT score.

NLU Ranchi accepts CLAT scores, followed by a round of counselling for admission to the integrated law programme. During the NUSRL CLAT cutoff 2024, the cutoff list was released up to five rounds. Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) released the institute wise and course-wise CLAT Provisional Allotment lists on the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2023 for NLU admissions to BA LLB and LLM programmes. 

Candidates are advised to give minimum one year to six months of preparation time to crack CLAT exam with high scores. CLAT is one of the most competitive law entrance exam, and candidates need to devote their time sufficiently to surpass cutoff marks. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 is expected to be held on December 7, 2025. For qualifying CLAT exam with maximum marks, candidates have to prepare exhaustively, but in a strategic manner.
