Some companies which come here provide less salary, so not much of students are interested in that.

Our college has a good and favorable environment for good quality of studying.
Placements: This year, the placement rates for students at my college are impressive compared to previous years. I am from the ECE department, and companies are seeking skilled students rather than just those with good CGPAs. VLSI skills require a considerable amount of coding ability, and the focus is on the core domain of the department.
Infrastructure: I am a hosteler, and being a hosteler the quality of the room is quite good not much. If we compare it with the other private colleges the infrastructure quality needs to be improved as soon as possible. The size of the rooms is not enough for 2 people.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, and the professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable at their equal level. No compromises are there in education. The exams are conducted at very high security. There are negligible amount of chance of cheating in college during exams. Highly range jammers are used during the exam conducting.
Other: I feel like NERIST is mostly likely focused on the development of the core branches but I would appreciate the college if they provide more opportunities to the other branch students.

I am satisfied with the things I am getting in my college. Especially for the placements.
Placements: In my college, there are ample placement opportunities for Mechanical Department students. Most companies, such as Oil India Limited, L&T, and TCS, recruit here. The average package is between 10 and 12 LPA, which is good for new engineering graduates. All final-year students are actively seeking jobs.
Infrastructure: Our departments, library, classrooms, and labs have good infrastructure. The Wi-Fi system offers 24/7 service. Hostel facilities are also decent, and for sports and games, there is a football turf, a volleyball court, and a gymnasium with all the necessary equipment. The mess food is quite okay—not particularly good or bad.
Faculty: Our faculty members are well-informed and educated. They graduated from various colleges, including IIT Guwahati and IIT Bombay, among others. They possess strong teaching skills. The semester exams are easy if any student attends classes regularly. Teachers assign presentations.
Other: I have chosen mechanical engineering as my ambition is in aeronautics and aircraft design. If more instructors were available for our software learning or structural design, it would be more beneficial. Our college hosts mainly two events: one is RACAF (college fest) and the other is SYNERGY (sports event). We enjoy them a lot. E

Improvement is required in every aspect.
Placements: The minimum placement package starts from 3 LPA, and the maximum goes up to 6 LPA as of today, i.e., 03/02/2025. However, the highest package is around 9 LPA, offered by Oil India and other PSUs, which means the placement packages range from 3 LPA to 9 LPA. About 50% of the students from my course, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, get placed. To be eligible for placements, students should not have any active backlogs. The top recruiting companies include Oil India, L&T, Vikas Group, Reliance, and others.
Infrastructure: The department building is good, and there is a Wi-Fi facility along with the library. It has a clean environment both inside and outside. However, there is no Wi-Fi connection in the labs and classrooms. The infrastructure is average and not very impressive, and cleanliness needs to be maintained. This should be addressed by the administration. The mess in the hostel is the worst, with no hygiene maintained. On the positive side, the canteen is decent, offering a variety of food items, including fast food. Sports and games facilities are well-equipped, with a turf ground, badminton court, basketball court, and more.
Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful, but some are arrogant and biased, making them less supportive of students. Although all the faculty members are well-qualified, they need to improve their teaching skills to be more effective in the classroom. When it comes to practical knowledge, the teaching curriculum does not meet expectations, so students often seek practical training during the summer. Exams are not very difficult to pass, but due to poor teaching that some students find hard to understand, teachers should be more considerate while checking papers. The passing percentage is 34 out of 100.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in engineering. However, sometimes I feel that I chose the wrong university. The teaching skills of the faculty need improvement, and the classroom environment could be better. There are too many events in the college that disrupt student life and affect the hostel atmosphere. These events also lead to campus overcrowding with too many outsiders entering the premises. Connectivity needs improvement as well. Scholarships are provided by every state for students whose family income is less than 2.5 LPA.

Good, could be better. But it's getting better day by day.
Placements: Placement is the most difficult thing in life because you don't know what you are going through or how you are feeling or what you are doing or whatever it takes you don't let me and you don't know how.
Infrastructure: Our college has free Wi-Fi and smart classroom. They provide a bus for traveling from one classroom to another. Classrooms are good. There is a football field, and the environment is superb. Come here, it's cheap and very nice. The best thing is that we can go back and forth from our institute.
Faculty: Teachers are good and helpful. We should join this institute for easy scoring, and getting a placement for this one will make you a millionaire in a year. You can earn money for yourself, and earn money for your family members and friends.

Strong faculty, Industry- Relevant Curriculum, Vibrant Campus.
Placements: 60 percent of students were placed from my department. The highest package offered in my department was 1,200,000 LPA, and the lowest package was 300,000 LPA. The average package was above 400,000 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Tata Projects, L&T, and Vedanta.
Infrastructure: Most departments are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi to ensure seamless internet connectivity for research. Classrooms are typically equipped with multimedia facilities like projectors and smart boards. University libraries usually have a wide range of textbooks.
Faculty: Our college has dedicated faculty who are approachable and willing to assist students. The faculty are typically well-qualified, with many holding advanced degrees (Masters or Ph.D.) in their respective fields. Our college has two exams: one mid-semester and one end-semester.
Other: The batch I am referring to consists of those who joined the course in 2021 and will graduate in 2025. I chose this course because of a strong interest in mechanical engineering coupled with a desire to pursue a career in the automotive industry.

NERIST pros and cons. Hidden behind the hills of Northeast.
Placements: The placements are average. The average per annum incomes which our college gives range from 3 LPA to 9 LPA. Many known companies do come, like L&T, TATA Projects, Vedanta, OIL India Ltd. Unknown small companies also come for non-technical posts. Otherwise, you can prepare well for GATE and get better placements.
Infrastructure: Academic blocks and classroom infrastructure are average. You won't find broken tables and chairs in classrooms. However, hostels are the worst here. Every single room will either have broken windows or broken walls, and some have water leaks too. Even the electricity wiring is very bad; the way they have done the wiring in the hostel is so bad that it can't take heavy loads, and during summer, there is always the problem of electricity overloading. Drinking water supply is very bad, both in the hostel and academic blocks. The tube lights and bulbs we have to buy by ourselves.
Faculty: The teachers here are very good and have good knowledge. Unlike other institutes, our teachers are very engaging and frank with us students. They are open-minded and love to interact with us. They teach the concepts very well and try to make sure that we have understood the concept well. The exams are also quite good. The questions you get here make sure that you have understood the concept properly in the classroom.
Other: NEIRST has lots of events and other extracurricular activities. RACAF is a yearly college event which will help you showcase your talents in singing, dancing, photography, drawing, arts, and so many things. It's an event where you can make your hobbies better or explore other new hobbies. Then there is SHRISTI, a technical fest where you can apply your engineering knowledge and aptitude knowledge to solve puzzles and participate in various events like Robo Wars.
