    Not great for placements.
Placements: Probably less than 5% in ECE got placements as for other branches in B.Sc. they don't get any I guess. Average package is around 4 LPA but it's rare for ECE and CSC. Probably Wipro companies as for me I didn't got an internship yet because I am in 2nd year.
Infrastructure: There are hostels but unfortunately new students probably won't get any room since lack of rooms. They get priority based on distance from the university to their home. One room can accommodate 3 students. There is no modern canteen. As for medical, there's only one, according to my knowledge.
Faculty: For the 1st year, I don't think teachers are very good. Teaching style isn't that good but of course there are some who are good. Even though there is technology, they don't use it properly, so I believe they should be trained how to use them eg., smart boards, animation, etc (exceptions are there).
Other: I chose this course because I wanted, but of course I didn't want this college. There should be lots of improvements regarding teacher's teaching style and use of technology.

Absolutely dissatisfied with faculty members because they are not supportive.
Placements: I don't know much about placement at Assam University since I am new here. But a senior told me that the placement conditions here are not good. Around 2-3 students got placed. Many students got unplaced. The other departments are good and have decent placements. But the engineering department has very poor placements. If you are coming to this college, expect no placement.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. We have a big library. We also have well-equipped labs. Hostel facilities are good. Wi-Fi is slow. But very less people get hostels since there are many departments and less hostel seats. I am in 2nd year now, and I still haven't graduated from college. Sports facilities are good. A new sports building is under construction for basketball and badminton.
Faculty: Faculty members are not supportive. I am extremely dissatisfied with the faculty members. Many teachers are not qualified, they have come here from the state quota. The management staffs are also very bad, they are very lazy to do work. If you want to make a simple document, it will take you days or even months.
Other: It is a very good college if you are interested in fests because there are a lot of fests. Almost 3 fests per month. The other departments are good but B.Tech here is not recommended by me.

    It is the best college.
Placements: I am from computer science and engineering course from 1st-year. Around 50% of students get placements in our college. The highest package in our college is 20 LPA and the lowest package is 4 LPA. 50% of students get internships in our college.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi in our hostels. We have good facilities in our classroom like the current facility, drinking water facilities, etc. There is a good quality of food in our hostel mess and canteen. There are grounds for games like football, cricket, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They help us in doing projects and work. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is good and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are easy. The pass percentage is 80%, and 20% of students fail in semester exams.
Other: I chose the computer science course because I like it. I have an interest in computers. The best things about my course are coding, computer languages, programming, etc. Our college organises events like Anuva, Techracy, and Extracy in semesters. For Assamese people in our college, there is a scholarship of 8 lakhs.

College is good. Satisfied with our faculty members and placement. No enjoyment of college programs.
Placements: Around 100% of students got placed in Food Engineering and Technology department last year at a maximum salary package offered was 6 LPA. Companies like Amul recruiters students. Many students secured internships ever year in different well known companies like Amul, ITC, etc. Roles offered are sales, research, etc.
Infrastructure: Library is one of the best in the state. Labs are well-equipped, not much but good. Hostellers get proper internet through LAN connection. Classrooms are good enough. Mess doesn't provide much good food but is edible. Canteens are a bit expensive.
Faculty: Department teachers are very good and well-educated. They are helpful. Their teaching qualities are good. Course curriculum are relevant enough, allowing students to enjoy our subjects. Semester exams may be difficult in some subjects but easily scorable.

Cit Kokrajhar. Best for book lovers for the library.
Placements: Placement in my college is quite low; last year it was just 60%. The highest package was 9 Lacs per annum, and the average was 4.5 Lacs per annum. Infosys offers the most. The internship in our college is quite low too. Assistant Engineer was the highest post offered last year.
Infrastructure: The outer infrastructure is good, but a few classrooms are not as good as others. The library is the best thing here. The best. The hostel has the best facilities here: big, clean, Wi-Fi 24/7, and water 24/7. The mess is bad, but the canteen is good. The sports facilities are very bad. We don’t even have an indoor stadium, and sports equipment is not given regularly.
Faculty: The faculty is very good, very well-qualified, and they are very helpful in many aspects. The course directly can’t make anyone industry-ready, but it helps. The semester exams are hard, but it’s an engineering exam; it should be hard. But the passing percentage is good (80%).
Other: I was a computer nerd from my childhood, so choosing this stream was obvious. The campus surroundings are good as it is not crowded, and the place is very peaceful. Scholarships are offered here, but only for ST/SC students. Connectivity with the main town is poor, but we have 4 buses that run on time, so it is okay. The best thing is its fest, which is Techracy and Estascy.

    About Assam University, Silchar.
Placements: I am studying in Agriculture engineering. The package is not so good but it is average. Top companies are Mahendra, TCS, Tata, and many more. Approximately 70% of students got internships off-campus. There are so many students in my course approximately 60. As I am first-year student I do not have any idea about top roles offered.
Infrastructure: Hostel is good. Food is also good as compared to living in PGs or rental rooms. Infrastructure is not so good but this course is good I think. Classrooms have Wi-Fi and there are so many labs as compared to so many central universities.
Faculty: Teachers are good and experienced. All have experience of more than 5 years. The course curriculum is relevant because it is central government college and has qualified teachers. Semester exam is moderate, but the grading in exam is so hard.
Other: There are many fests and events in this college. There is so much crowd that we cannot accept but it is real. It is a central government college.

Assam University (Silchar) is a solid choice because it’s a central university, so the fees are way more affordable compared to private colleges. For the 2026 session, you're looking at a total expenditure of around ₹2.8 Lakhs for the full 4-year B. Pharm program.
