NERIST NEE 2025: The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) has released the NERIST NEE Application form 2025. Candidates can fill the NEE application form using the link given on this page or from the institute website. The University will conduct the NERIST NEE 2025 exam on April 26 for BTech courses

The NEE exam is conducted for admission to three courses. NEE-II exam is held for admission to BTech and BSc (Hons) in Forestry whereas NEE-I to admission in certificate courses and the NEE-III to BTech LE admissions.

Q:   What is the NERIST Exam?

A: 

The NEE (NERIST Entrance Examination) is conducted by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science And Technology for admissions to various Bachelor of Technology programs, offered by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science And Technology. The entrance examination is conducted at different centers in the States of Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Tripura. North Eastern Regional Institute of Science And Technology conducts the exam in three different levels- NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III for different modules that is Certificate Diploma, and Degree modules of the Technology Stream and four years Degree in Forestry. Admission to the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science And Technology is done on a merit basis as per the Institute regulations under various reservation categories.

What is NERIST NEE?

NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is an offline entrance exam held across the North Eastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura). This entrance exam is conducted by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) for admission to  BTech, BTech LE, BSc (Hons) in Forestry, and certificate courses. NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III are held for admission to certificate courses, BTech & BSc (Hons) in Forestry, and BTech Lateral Entry respectively. The NEE-II is conducted with a single question paper of 150 marks of three hours duration. NEE-II (PCM) is held for candidates aspiring to take admission in BTech courses and NEE-II (PCB) is for candidates seeking admission to BSc (Hons) in Forestry. Candidates who qualify NEE, have to appear for the counselling rounds conducted by NERIST for admission.

NERIST NEE 2025 Admission Process

The admission process for NEE 2025 is as follows:

  • Step 1: Register for NEE 2025: To begin with, aspirants need to register for the NEE exam.
  • Step 2: Download NEE 2025 Admit Card: NEE admit cards can be downloaded from the official website. To download the same, aspirants will need their login details.
  • Step 3: Appear for the Nerist entrance exam 2025: NEE is conducted in offline mode. Aspirants are advised to follow all the instructions for the exam as given on the admit card.
  • Step 4: Check NEE 2025 exam result: NEE result is declared on the official website.
  • Step 5: Appear for NEE 2025 Counselling: Aspirants who clear the exam need to appear for NEE counselling, as per the schedule.

NERIST Entrance Examination 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check below the eligibility to apply for NEE:

Age limit: The maximum Age limit as of 31st July of the current academic year is 23 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 2002), 26 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August 1999) and 28 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August 1997).

Academic qualification: Academic Qualifications for different schemes/modes of NEE-II:

  • NEE-II (PCM): Applicants must have passed/appeared in 10+2/ Higher Secondary/Sr. Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
  • NEE-II (PCB): Applicants must have passed/appeared in 10+2/Higher Secondary/Sr. Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).

NERIST NEE 2025 Application Form

The application form of NERIST NEE has been released. Candidates can apply online for NEE using the link on this page or from the university website. Note that the form must be filled out very carefully. After the final submission of the application form, no changes can be made by the applicant to their online application. A printout of the submitted complete Application form is to be retained with the candidate, which is to be submitted at the time of counselling/admission if selected.

How to fill out the NEE Form?

The entire process of filling online application form can be completed in below mentioned 9 steps:

  1. Registration: Register yourself for the online application process at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (Application Portal–www.neeonline.ac.in).
  2. Activation: Activate your online Application with the E-mail ID and Your Activation Code; send it your submitted Email ID/Mobile No in the registration process.
  3. Programme selection: Selection of the Program Type & Program Name and check eligibility.
  4. Filling the online form: If the applicant confirms the eligibility criteria and continues the Program, the next webpage appears. The applicant is required to click on “Application Details”. The application form will appear on the screen. The applicant is required to fill in the details in the application form.
  5. Uploading scanned images: In the next step, the applicant is required to upload scanned image files of their Photograph and Signature one by one (as specified in points 4 & 5 above).
  6. Fill academic details: In the next step, the applicant is required to fill in the Academic details.
  7. Choose exam centre: In the next step, the applicant is required to choose an Examination Centre preference.
  8. Review: Once all the details are filled in, the candidate is required to review the details entered and confirm. No edit will be allowed once the application is confirmed.
  9. Fee payment: Payment of fees through online.

Photo & Signature Upload in NEE Form

The scanned passport photo and signature should be:

  • within 3.5 X 4.5 cm in size
  • maximum 100 KB in size
  •  ".JPEG/.JPG" format

NEE 2025 Application Fee

The application fee for NEE is as follows:

  • INR 1500 for Gen/OBC/EWS
  • INR 1000 for ST/SC/PH

Candidates can pay the fee using a Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking through the payment gateway available on the portal.

NERIST Entrance Examination 2025 Admit Card

The registered candidates can download the NEE admit card from the official website from April 11, 2025 onwards. On the day of the examination, candidates must bring their NEE admit card, black ballpoint pen, etc., to the examination hall. Calculator (non-programmable) / Log tables are allowed for NEE-II, NEE-II (Vocational) and NEE-III.

In case of non-receipt of NEE admit card 2025, candidate must bring a photocopy of their Registration Confirmation page and two colour photographs.

NERIST NEE 2025 Answer Key

The NEE 2025 answer keys of MCQ-based NEE shall be uploaded to the admission portal after completion of the test. The answer key shall have the correct answers to all questions asked in the NEE exam. Candidates can challenge through online mode for verification of NEE answer keys if they are not satisfied with the respective question(s) / answer option(s), for a limited period of time.

The non-refundable processing fee for each challenge is INR 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) plus admissible charges, if any which will be required to be paid online only. Note that, challenges submitted by post/email in person are not accepted, only the online mode shall be accepted.

NERIST NEE 2025 Result

The NEE 2025 results shall be declared on the NERIST website. There will be cut-off marks for the selection of candidates through NERIST Entrance Examinations. The result shall be calculated using the marking scheme of the exam and displayed on the website.

NERIST NEE 2025 results are made available separately for three modules (or levels): NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III. NEE 2025 result comprises the list of candidates who have qualified in the written test and are further called for the counselling process.

NERIST NEE 2025 Reservation Policy

Candidates can check the various reservation categories applicable during NERIST counselling:

  • State quota: For candidates who belong to any of the Eight North Eastern States. 80% of seats are reserved for candidates of the 8 (Eight) North Eastern States (10% for each state) as state quota. Besides this, 7% of the total seats are filled up with Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) holders of these 8 (Eight) North Eastern States on a merit basis. 
  • All India quota: For candidates who belong to any of the States of India. 10% of the total seats are filled up with candidates under the all India quota.
  • PD quota: For candidates with 40 to 75% Physical loco-motor Disability (PD) belonging to any of the States of India. 3% of the total seats are reserved for Physical Locomotor Disabled (PD) persons under the PD quota.

NERIST NEE 2025 Counselling

NERIST Entrance Exam (NEE) 2025 counselling is conducted by the institute after the declaration of the result. The names of the qualified candidates are uploaded to the official website of the university. Such candidates have to attend the NERIST NEE counselling process according to the schedule released by the authority. During the NERIST 2025 counselling, the candidates have to produce all the original certificates at the time of the certificate verification process. Also, they have to submit the attested copies of their documents along with the online Anti-ragging undertakings. The admission of the candidate is subject to the availability of the seats in their choice of college and course.
