North Maharashtra University conducts CET for admission to some of the courses such as BBA, BCA, BMS, MCA and MBA. For courses such as BTech, BPharm, etc., MHT CET score is accepted for admission. Other state-level entrance exams such as MHCET Law,  MAH CET, etc. are accepted for admission to specific programmes. Once the selection process is over, candidates are required to participate in counselling.

As per the official brochure for the NMU BSc in CS course, the intake capacity is nearly 40. Students are admitted to the programme based on the sanctioned seat intake. The selection also depends upon the candidates performance in the last qualifying examination. Further, 70% of seats are for students who have passed qualifying exam from Maharashtra state boards and 30% for candidates of other state boards.

North Maharashtra University is currently accepting applications for certain BSc (Hons) Electronics courses. The eligible students can visit its official website to register and apply. NMU releases its applications generally around June/Jul as per past years' data or information gathered from unofficial sources. Candidates must submit their application on or before the prescribed deadline.

Kavayitri Bahinbai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University was awarded with four star grade in the year 2001, a B grade with 2.88 CGPA in the year 2009 and an A Grade with 3.11 CGPA in 3rd Cycle re-accreditation in the year 2015 by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. Moreover, the jurisdiction of the NMU is extended over three districts i.e. Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar.

North Maharashtra University admissions to Law courses including,  B.A. LL.B. has been released up to MHCET Law Round 3. As per MHCET Law cutoff 2023 for B.A. LL.B, the closing score stood at 104. In 2022, the closing score was 86 and in 2021 it was 42. The aforementioned closing scores are for the General category All India candidates. There are various scholarships provided by the university. Also, the university provides various schemes for the students. Some of them include Late Karmaveer Patil ‘Earn and Learn Scheme’. Late Karmaveer Patil ‘Earn and Learn Scheme’ aims at helping poor and needy students by giving economical help on doing some work. Students will be paid INR 15 per hour only up to a maximum of 3 hours a day, Student Research Motivation Scheme, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Medical Fund, Maulana Azad National Fellowship For Minority Students, UGC, New Delhi, Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child of UGC, New Delhi, etc.

NMU provides hostel facility both for boys and girls. The university has single, double and triple seated rooms are available to accommodate more than 1000 students. Moreover, the hostel facility include Wi-Fi connectivity, water coolers, solar water heaters, computer lab with internet connectivity, study tables and chairs separately for each students etc.
