NSOU Kolkata provides multiple courses in Open & Distance Learning Mode. These courses allows people to access education widely and remotely. ODL courses can be pursued in either online or offline mode. Candidates can choose an institute that provides their desired course in their preferred mode. NSOU scholarship schemes include all the Central, UGC/AICTE and State schemes mentioned on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)

There is no provision of scholarship and No financial aid was received. There is no annual fest or programme or anything like that. Very Helpfull University.

The placement report for the academic year 2023-2024 is yet to be release on the official website. However, as per the students’ reviews on Shiksha page, NSOU recorded 70% placements in the recemt placement drive. No, compared to other universities, earning an MBA at Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) is not expensive. Offering a more cost-effective option for higher education, NSOU charges a total course fee of INR 1,00,000 (Rupees One Lakh). By contrast, the entire cost of tuition for the MBA/PGDM programme at Netaji Subhas University is INR 2.7 Lakh, signifying a much higher expense. Because NSOU's tuition is less expensive, it's a more affordable choice for people who want to study for an MBA without having to pay for too much. As per the students’ reviews on Shiksha page, various recruiters participated during NSOU placements 2023 and placed students in new-age job roles. The list of recruiters included Amul, Tata, ACC, Bajaj, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Concentrix, etc.

Netaji Subhas Open University is accredited with A Grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). NSOU is approved by AICTE, Distance Education Bureau,  and UGC  (University Grants Commission). Netaji Open University is a member of AIU,  AAOU,  and ACU. This Open University in Kolkata was established in 1997. NSOU alumni have found jobs in top companies at top positions such as Amul, Tata, ACC, Bajaj, TCS, Wipro,  and others. This is the reason to choose NSOU. 

NSOU provides several MA specialisations, including Bengali, English, English Language Teaching, History, Political Science, Public Administration, and Education. Eligibility for these programmes varies; for example, candidates must have a BA or equivalent in the relevant stream from a recognised university to pursue an MA in Bengali. Similarly, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Education to pursue an MA in Education.Ed/B.Ed (Special Education) from a recognised university.

Students who are looking for admission at NSOU need to meet the last educational qualification.  Admission is through Management Entrance Test (NSOU-MET) followed by Personal Interview (PI) of 100marks. The NSOU-ET may be of 100 marks (English-30, Mathematics-30, Aptitude-20 and GK20) based on MCQ. The students may be selected on the basis of the results of NSOU-MET & PI.
