Osmania University Hyderabad is a public state university,  recognised by the UGC and accredited with an “A+” Grade by the NAAC. It was ranked 36 in the 'University' category and 64 under the 'Overall' category by the NIRF 2023 Rankings. Furthermore, the QS World University Rankings 2025 has ranked OU University Hyd in the band of 1201-1400.Established in 1917, OU University Hyderabad has over 720 affiliated colleges with an enrolment of 3.2 Lacs students. It has about 8 campus colleges, 5 constituent colleges, 12 faculties, and 53 departments.
